My name is Valeria Morado. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I have 5 years of experience providing mental health services to various populations, including youth and adults with anxiety, depression, substance use, and family conflict. I utilize a mix of Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Supportive therapies during treatments with my clients. I believe I am empathetic and client-centered, which significantly helps my clients in their journey to wellness.

Dealing with addiction can be very difficult and overwhelming to deal with alone. Addiction doesn't look the same for everyone but anyone can overcome addiction. Drug abuse and addiction problems can be devastating, not only to the individual but to the family as well. Knowing that you are not alone is the first step to ease your mind. Everyone with an addiction problem has their own story that should be individualized not judged but heard. Identifying the biological, environmental, behavioral, and social causes and consequences of drug use and addiction is just some of the steps that we will face together.

My approach to counseling closely mirrors my view of life: there is no one-size-fits-all answer. I use a multifaceted approach to counseling, pulling from the core theoretical approaches of CBT, Person-Centered, and DBT. I believe that as humans, we were created for connection with others. We all experience unexpected circumstances that make life challenging, and attempting to balance life's challenges on our own can be confusing and frustrating. I focus on helping my clients discover their self-worth and core values in order to help them build a life they are proud of.

My main focus and specialties include anxiety, depression, working with unconventional couples, pre-marital/married couples, and families to help build better communication, accountability, and honesty. Also, as a military spouse, I understand the complexities that life can bring and I am here to support individuals from all walks of life.

We all have aspects of our personalities that have been repressed, ignored, or unrealized, and this can cause painful psychological distress. When these aspects are brought to the surface in a safe, caring therapeutic environment, they can be addressed and integrated, resulting in a more fully realized human. This is what I do.

I am a passionate and dedicated individual known for my open-mindedness, honesty, and attentive ear. I believe that empathy, understanding, and a genuine caring spirit must be present in every interaction that I have with individuals. I also bring a unique blend of sincerity and insight into every session that I have with my clients.

I have always been interested in the effects of trauma on one's life. Trauma has many effects that most don't consider. I have learned how to assist people in creating a loved life in spite of any trauma they have experienced.

My ideal client is someone who, not only is experiencing depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, marital issues, and behavioral concerns, but also is willing to discover the reasons behind such issues, who is motivated to learn healthy patterns of functioning, and to improve overall outlook on life.

I do not accept insurance at this time. From birth to adulthood our experiences can affect how we show up in the world. Those experiences can affect our behavior, thinking, and mood, leaving us in an emotionally unhealthy place. I will partner with you, meet you where you are, and provide a safe and supportive space as you find your way and begin to live the life you desire. My goal is to empower you to develop the skills to overcome personal challenges.
