Are you seeking a path that resonates more deeply with you? Have you felt a disconnection from the essence of your true self, longing to reconnect but unsure how? Life has a way of nudging us beyond familiar boundaries, often when we least anticipate it. These unexpected life shifts can take various shapes, from illness to the loss of a loved one, career changes, or moments where trust is tested — each guiding us towards new landscapes of the unknown. In times of transition, it's common to reflect deeply on the values and truths that have grounded us, or to question how we'll navigate the path to a fresh start.

Life is simultaneously amazingly beautiful and painfully terrifying. How we cope with these terrifying and difficult moments can impact how we see and enjoy life. Studies confirm what I know to be true: the best predictor of therapeutic success is a secure, attuned therapeutic relationship. This means I meet you with compassion and listen without judgment, assumptions, or expectations. I respect your pace and honor the need to feel safe when sharing your story. At the foundation of my work with individuals and couples is the belief that every human being has an innate ability to thrive.

I specialize in working with hard-working, goal-oriented, perfectionists who are experiencing the tolls of chronic stress. Many of my clients have roles caring for others, for example: healthcare workers, teachers, parents, and business owners. Fatigue, irritability, insomnia, brain fog, imposter anxiety, and burnout are common struggles I see in my practice. Because, for many caregiver/healer types, taking time to nurture ourselves can be incredibly challenging. At Nurtured Psychology we work together to regain a sense of balance and to reconnect with ease and joy in your roles.

I am passionate about empowering you to live your values with intentionality and purpose, gain insights into barriers, and create the change you seek. I want to support you in learning how to implement your strengths, live more mindfully, and leverage your power to live a better life and reach your goals. I believe in our need for connection, love, and to feel whole and that the absence of these feelings can be the basis for some of our struggles and suffering.

I'm not your typical therapist. I'm real. I bring 100% of myself into my work. I am actively present and transparent in session, often reflecting personal examples that may illuminate a place where you are feeling stuck or to help you feel less isolated. I'm not easily intimidated, shaken, or shocked. I've heard it all. I can hold it all, and honestly - I truly want to.

It is my commitment to provide support and understanding to my clients through compassion, non-judgmental listening, and empathy. I strive to create a safe place for clients to explore and heal from their internal wounds and anxieties. There is no one-size-fits-all in counseling and you might not know how you feel or where to go from here. That is a place where I will meet you; collaborating with you to help you through the indecisiveness at your level of comfort. Anxiety, depression, and the many symptoms they create are the hallmarks of what can block our progress.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
