I believe that it is my responsibility to provide a safe place where clients can talk about their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a non-judgmental atmosphere. My approach is interactive, validating, compassionate and collaborative. Depending on the client and/or the specific situation, I work from a variety of perspectives.

They may notice unhealthy relationship patterns (disconnection, conflict, severed relationships), they may be struggling with a particular transition (transitioning to adulthood, parenting, loss), or they may be struggling to cope with some intense feelings (grief, sadness, anxiety). I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families with adjustment, marriage and family, and mental health issues. I enjoy helping couples make adjustments to marriage, stages of parenting, empty nest, retirement, chronic illnesses, and hospice care. As a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist, I teach patients a variety of coping skills where they learn how to change their thoughts and behaviors in order to change their mood (i.e. depressed, anxious, frustrated, or angry).

My ideal client is one who has dealt with anxiety and/or depression throughout life. The clients who have tried therapy periodically but struggle to maintain a stable mood. Clients who are uncomfortable in most environments and seem to always be on edge. These clients often face social, professional, and family struggles because they are reactive, defensive, and sometimes impulsive in both language and actions. People who struggle to be able to motivate themselves into action. These qualities can lead to feeling misunderstood and alienated. I have successfully treated clients that fit this profile.

Dr. Moore is a Christian practitioner board certified in both Psychiatry and Family Practice and specializes in psychiatric medication management. Although Dr. Moore treats patients across the lifespan, he has a special interest in treating the geriatric population.
