I love helping people identify where they are and why, and to determine what they want to achieve so that I can support them as they pursue those goals.

As an African-American LMSW and LCDC-I, I work with Adults (18+) that are struggling with depression and adjustment disorders related to stress, grief, life transitions or trauma. I also help treat anxiety disorders, PTSD and relationship issues. My goal is to help you navigate a world that can be overwhelming. We all know that at times, life has a way of just piling on one thing after another, making it difficult to remain true to who we are. My purpose is to empower you to embrace your emotions, feelings and thoughts to help you gain a better sense of self.

My counseling style is mixture of respect, honesty, and compassion. My job is not to judge, but to help. Sometimes what has happened in our past can strongly affect our present moods and behaviors. I utilize a trauma-focused approach in the therapy that I practice. I enjoy working with culturally diverse client populations. As a United States Army retired veteran with over 20 years of service, I also have extensive experience in working with military populations. Sheila Jordan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas who has over six years of experience providing therapeutic care and clinical assessments to adults, couples, and children seeking help with childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, coping, learning disabilities, alcohol use, women’s issues, relationship concerns, sex offender treatment, and victims of sexual abuse. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Prairie View A&M and received her Master of ART in Counseling at Prairie View A&M University.

I have been an educator (both general and special education), behavioral analyst, editor, author, and consultant for over 20 years. Having experience in secondary and college-level classrooms and behavioral clinics from Pre-K-12, my current pursuits are on behavioral intervention in both the educational and community settings. A unique mix of training and graduate education in technology integration and autism spectrum disorders affords me the tools in providing innovative solutions to challenging situations while allowing for practical, successful implementation.
