I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most significant factors in assisting individuals to be successful in therapy and reach their goals. I have clinical experience in helping individuals with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life/work transitions, coping with grief and loss, self esteem issues.

I have worked with a diverse set of populations providing trauma therapy and neurofeedback therapy. Throughout my career, I have built trauma-focused programs at different mental health organizations. With a passion for working with combat veterans, I have also been a contracted Neurofeedback clinician with the Lone Survivor Foundation to serve those that served our nation. I led a trauma team in the Santa Fe District to implement systems and provide trauma-wellness counseling services to students and staff in the district in response to the May 18th mass violence tragedy at Santa Fe High School.

I believe the most important part of therapy is a relationship that is non-judgmental, open, and warm. I want our time together to be collaborative. I want to understand what has worked for you in the past and what you’d like to focus on in your future. I grew up in Louisiana and started my training in New Orleans, where I worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Claudia Walker is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 30 years of experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation from UT SW Medical, her Masters in Clinical Psychology Neuroscience from the University of Texas, and her Masters in Professional Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Claudia believes in a counseling style that is direct but relaxed, as she does not want to waste her client’s time and wants them to feel free to speak their mind and know they will not be judged but accepted.
