I focus primarily on anxiety, depression, trauma (including race-based and gender-identity-based trauma), grief and loss, and self-esteem.
Sometimes we're looking for a safe place where we can be seen, heard, and validated. We want someone to hold space for us without judgment or blame. We also may want a road map. Someone who can guide us based on their lived experiences or professional expertise.

Hello, my name is Jeremiah Henderson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the state of Texas. I have over 7 years of experience working with depression, grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, low motivation, trauma, and anger. It is important to realize that we are all prone to experience life stressors and negative emotions that can knock us down; however, I want us to work to develop skills and coping mechanisms to assist in helping to pull ourselves back to a point of stability.

I am passionate about working individuals and couples, teens and adults who find themselves struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and sexuality or gender. I work to create an environment of connection and care, without judgement, where clients can come to a better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others. Brene Brown once said, "The truth is that falling hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up." Sometimes, this can be a daunting realization, but you don't have to do it alone! My own experiences with grief, loss, infertility, anxiety and other life changes have shown me a level of familiarity and connection that cannot be taught, allowing me to connect with others in need of support. I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022, am an LPC-Associate, supervised by Lisa Salazar, DMFT, LPC-S and it would be an honor to walk alongside in your journey to peace and healing!

As adults, we naturally want to protect children from the pain of loss or the traumatic experiences of life challenges. Children’s response to worries and struggles may cause heartbreak for parents and caretakers to witness firsthand sadness, big emotions, and concerning behaviors. Children and teens should not face the challenges and pain alone. They need support, guidance, and a safe place to process struggles. As a result of psychotherapy, facing struggles and challenges can help kids build determination, courage, coping skills and confidence.

One of our deepest longings is to be heard. Let me listen. Over time, our experiences and beliefs shape how we navigate through life. Difficult situations such as loss, divorce, natural disasters, school stress, and other life stressors can make it hard for us to move forward in our lives. Brene Brown states, “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they are necessary to overcome these challenges. Let me be the support you need to get through your tough times.

I have experience working with clients who struggle with trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other life transitions.
I offer individual therapy and have experience working with adolescents and adults. My approach to counseling is one that involves addressing each client as a “Whole” from a biopsychosocial perspective. This perspective gives importance to not just the mind, but the body, environment, medical history, and experiences as well.

I guide people through relationship problems, unresolved childhood traumas, individuation from family of origin, grief, and cross-cultural issues.
The capacity to heal resides in each and every one of us, however, choosing therapy takes a lot of courage on your part. You are choosing to talk to someone whom you have never met before, and the thought of disclosing personal information to this individual can be anxiety provoking. My goal is to create a safe and transformative environment for you that will help promote a non-judgmental experience full of compassion and acceptance. Through my holistic approach including emotional, physical, social and spiritual well-being, we will work together to create a life that you want.

Hello, my name is Susanne Maynard. I work well with those experiencing anxiety, depression and grief. My biggest strengths are personal experience, a love of learning, and a willingness to try something new. I am always learning and growing. I believe my best work is done with those who have been wounded in the past, and are now ready to take charge of their personal healing journey. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each client, although the primary method I utilize is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will explore together what you believe is keeping you 'stuck' and what you would like to change.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
