I have a passion for helping children deal with big emotions. Children, often, do not have the ability to verbally express their feelings in words, and, therefore, my preferred approach is child-centered play therapy, which utilizes play as a medium for self-expression. Child-centered play therapy allows a child the freedom to process through the complex emotions they are experiencing, in a safe, contained space, and within a therapeutic relationship. Typically, children being able to communicate and experience their feelings in the playroom will alleviate the behavioral concerns that may result from emotional distress.

My mission is to help you see your inherent worth, and to journey along a path in which we can discover the authentic you. My speciality is young adults who are survivors of trauma including, but not limited to, childhood abuse and neglect and sexual abuse. Ultimately, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the most important thing, so I work to tailor my approach in a way that is unique and best fits each individual client.

I truly believe that individuals know how to solve their own problems, however, they may lack self-confidence, support, or the courage to do so. Anxiety catches us and fear holds us, but we are not destined to live a life without hope!

I am an SMU counseling graduate.I have worked several years with mentally ill clients having Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety and Schizophrenia. I have also worked with at risk youth, Gifted and Talented, autism, and children going through adjustments. I use a mixture of EMDR and ACT. I believe that we have much less control over our thoughts and feelings than we would like to believe so my focus with clients is action because our behaviors are one thing that we have significant control over. If you want to feel differently, you have to behave differently, and I will help you create a plan to do just that!
