A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor's and Master's degree from The University of Texas @ Arlington and a Doctorate from Barry University, with over 15 years experience working with children, adults, and families in a variety of settings and with diverse clients. Dr. Erica and her team believe that change happens when people are given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, happy lives. They provide compassion and support to help individuals overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate specialized in working with adolescents who present with anxiety, depression, defiant behavior, trauma, and other school-related issues. Majority of my experience stems from working closely with pre-teens and teens who present with a variety of concerns such as sexual/gender identity, substance use, self-esteem, grief, divorced/separated parents, self-harm, suicidal ideations, among other issues. In my 3 year school counseling career, I have had the honor to help teens and families successfully navigate through this stage.

I've worked with adolescence and families for around 25 years in a variety of settings. These settings include being a youth / children's pastor prior to starting my counseling journey. Much of my experience involves working with those that struggle with abuse, depression, relationship conflict, self harming behaviors, legal issues, and behavior problems. Although I am licensed to practice counseling through the State of Texas, I am a Christian and the fundamentals of my practice are in line with traditional Christian faith.

In my work, I prefer to focus on what is happening right now to help you keep what is working and change what isn't... There are times we must remove some roots to help us move forward and we can do that in a safe environment. Foster, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who worked in counseling, coaching, teaching and consulting for over 15 years. Healing and discovery--a therapeutic journey that I walk side-by-side with my clients. I have a wide range of counseling and coaching experiences from educational institutions, substance recovery, and psychiatric hospitals.

One of my beliefs is that people cannot truly love, or allow themselves to be loved in return, if we do not first find a way to love ourselves. Fundamentally, we can become wounded because of relationships, which in-turn, adversely affect how we interpret our own meaning and attachment to the world and others. However, as we grow in awareness and care for self, we can begin to heal in relationships just the same. This is accomplished by working through those past wounds which tend to manifest in and become the present behaviors and intentions that harm us and others.

My ideal client is engage an individual/couple that seeks to gain insight for purpose to create positive meaningful change. My focus becomes to assist clients to break repeated patterns that cause feelings of anxiety, anger, and depression. My goal is provide my client with three personal growth dynamics from counseling: (1) Enlightenment; (2) Encouragement; and (3) Empowerment.

As a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Adlerian Play Therapist, I engage clients in creative play to help them manage a variety of challenges of their past, present, and future. As a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner, I am equipped with techniques designed for children and their families who have faced trauma and attachment issues. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Family Life Educator with a PhD in Family Dev.
