I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Heidi Johanson, LPC-S. I am a trauma-informed therapist who works with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, abandonment, codependency, childhood issues including abuse/neglect, family of origin issues, life transitions, PTSD, and relationship issues. I am also passionate about helping clients recover from narcissistic abuse. As a therapist, I collaborate with you on goals for treatment and give you autonomy in your healing process. I believe the therapeutic relationship provides healing for attachment wounds and other various forms of trauma.

I stress the importance of developing a trusting relationship with my clients with the purpose of helping them understand the origin and nature of their issues and concerns so that they can overcome them. By identifying specific problem-factors, we all have the capability to decide to make changes that will result in our desired solution. Additionally, I specialize in personality and narcissistic concerns.

I focus on working with adults, couples, and teens. We know that many of our challenges are often connected somehow. Problems can become entangled, which makes them really hard to manage and resolve. And when we take notice, we see how so many aspects and relationships in our lives are affected. I want to learn who you are, listen to your story, and understand what you need from this process. Gaining insight and learning effective skills can help you handle almost anything life throws at you. Relationships are hard, under the best of circumstances. When "extra" challenges-like the pressure of parenting young children, struggles with communication & conflict, addiction, or life stressors are added onto our lives, it can be so overwhelming. We each are a result of many experiences- families of origin, current families, social & cultural experiences. Regardless of our circumstances, attachment science shows we all want connection & understanding. Our humanness is made up of social, emotional, spiritual & physical elements. All of these are connected & important. To respect, acknowledge & nurture these truths is my goal.

Each of us struggles with a variety of issues throughout our lives, and the decision to seek counseling is the first courageous step toward healing and cultivating a satisfying life. Some enter counseling during a time of crisis, while others seek counseling to overcome conflicts, explore relationships, or to attain a greater authenticity. I work to help each of my clients to become more self-aware and to obtain new insights or coping skills so that they can move forward to foster healthy relationships and to create more happiness and peace.

Hey there! I'm Steph and I have my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I advocate for all populations and always put my clients first. I am open to work with individual adults, adolescents (10-19), and couples. Using my compassion, I will allow my clients to be their most authentic self and explore different goals.
