What is therapy? Across all stages of life, we are faced with struggles and challenges (new or old) that can hold us back - creating frustration, isolation, anxiety, sadness. Therapy is about “neutralizing the negative” through self reflection, emotional healing, and through piecing together the overall “picture of you.” We focus on core beliefs driving the way you see and interact with the world and find ways to accept and tolerate our emotions. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior theories as both together provide balance between emotional regulation and challenging negative thinking.

I am a licensed professional counselor with a specialty in helping those struggling with all types of disordered eating. I earned my master’s degree in psychology from Midwestern State University. My background includes working with teenagers and adults in psychiatric hospitals and state correctional institutions. In these settings, I provided individual counseling services, therapeutic crisis management, and mental health groups focused on grief and loss, stress management, dialectical behavior techniques, and eating disorders.

I am a trauma and attachment therapist. I am currently utilizing telehealth and in-office visits. I specialize in trauma and post-adopt family work, but also enjoy working with individual children, teens, adults and therapists. Maryehdiah Giah is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, and she also has experience working with children (+10) and adolescents to adults aged 65 and above. Maryehdiah is passionate about assisting her patients and, as such, is very attentive to her patients while in sessions. Maryehdiah believes that everyone who wants to express their feelings to a professional deserves the professional’s undivided attention. Maryehdiah obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling at Prairie View A&M University.

Therese is a licensed psychologist who earned her PhD at the University of Nebraska. In addition to her doctorate in psychology, she holds a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) and completed an additional 2-year post-graduate program in marriage and family therapy. She has extensive experience, having worked professionally in Texas, Hawaii, Nebraska and Iowa. Most recently, before moving to Texas she lived and worked on the Big Island of Hawaii.
