Life can be beautiful, but it can also be difficult. I journey alongside clients to help them work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship, school, & career issues. Clients are provided a safe space to gain clarity in their situation, develop coping skills and tools to help them enhance life and to resolve issues. I welcome youth, ages 15 & above. I also welcome adults of any age and background. I also have expertise in familial relationships and dynamics centered around the discovery of a new family associated with adoption or non-paternal events. I work with individual adolescents and adults on issues relating to addiction/substance use dependency, "failure to launch", anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, sport psychology, and Christian counseling/crises of faith.

As a recovered alcoholic for over 22 years, I am passionate in my desire to help those struggling with addiction to understand why this is happening, how to succeed at staying sober, and what it means to live a new life in recovery. As a specialist in the treatment of dual-diagnosis and process addiction disorders for both adolescents and adults, I strive to provide anyone affected by the disease of addiction with the tools necessary to restore sanity in their lives. With over 30 years of experience, this counseling is conducted with expertise. A safe and nurturing environment makes it easy to open up. As we work together, solutions for your specific circumstance will become clear. Fees: $100 for 1 hour; and $50 for every additional 30 minutes. My passion is seeing people find solutions to their questions. Sometimes the problems of life deplete our resources. I believe that all change begins with the determination to make something different in ones life. Feelings often control the choices we make and cause reaction instead of response to situations. I really enjoy helping others to find behaviors that meet their goals and consider responsibility for what they can change. Instead, we can help! Each of the clinicians and staff who work with Stanley Psychology have been vetted personally by Amanda and are passionate about mental health. Children thrive when they are doing what they know and love best – playing! Sessions with children include play and focus on interactive ways to engage the child in conversation. Play disarms fear, which allows children to become comfortable within the session. Providing children with this space allows their voices to be heard. While sessions are filled with a lot of fun, I also have a natural ability to engage children in meaningful conversation, encourage parents to a deeper relationship with their children, and provide ongoing resources that will help the family long-term.

We as individuals have busy lives and sometimes our mental health gets forgotten or pushed to the back of the priority list. My approach and experience is to help clients feel empowered and become aware of the areas they have control in and choice in their lives. I am accepting clients of all ages, sexual orientation, identity, religion, etc. I provide individual therapy, group therapy, family and couples counseling.
