HELLO! I am a licensed professional counselor. As we all know too well, life can be completely unpredictable! I say control the controllables and by that I mean your well-being and mental health. At times you just want to be heard and that is exactly what I provide. I am along for the ride, but keep in mind you are in the driver's seat and ultimately only you can pick your final destination. I truly believe in the power of the 'here and now' and believe that you can consciously make efforts to reach happiness, whatever that happiness may look like for you. I have been a counselor for a little over 5 years now.

Sometimes, the turbulence of life is unavoidable, and we find ourselves in a holding pattern. What does your turbulence consist of? What keeps you strapped in your seat? Maybe, it's a broken marriage or dysfunctional relationship? Maybe, it's the loss of a loved one, depression, fear, or anxiety. I may not know exactly how you feel, but I understand that you want to feel differently: about yourself, about your relationship, about your life. I welcome adolescents and adults, couples, and families facing a variety of challenges including stress, depression, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, parenting, unresolved familial conflict, and the general "stuck" feeling. I believe that with my understanding of people and your understanding of you, we can work together to address these challenges.

In life we all face obstacles that can leave us confused, scared and even anxious. These obstacles can affect our emotional state, our relationships with loved ones and even our careers. My desire is to help clients address these obstacles and reach their full potential. I will use a technical integration approach of researched based theoretical modalities to meet each clients individual needs.

Let me take a moment to describe the kind of person with whom I enjoy working. I'll call her Jamie. She was successful in many ways, but she had noticed a pattern in her relationships with men. When she looked back, she saw they didn't treat her with respect. Some of them were verbally abusive. Some of them were even physically abusive. They were completely erratic in their jobs. Drugs and alcohol were sometimes part of the problem, too. Jamie had decided it was time for change; for her own sake and for the sake of her young son.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe the counseling process is much like a journey and is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the individual, couple, or family. My counseling style is dependent on the needs of each unique individual and their goals. Therefore the counseling process will be different for each person, but my role as a therapist, to guide and encourage, remains the same. In the first few sessions, we will work to discover where you would like to go on the journey and continue when you are proactively committed to getting there.

It is generally short-term and focused on helping you deal with a very specific problem; Virtual only (M,W,Thur 10 or 11 am), M-F (appointments after 5 pm CST), Saturdays (9-2p) "virtual appointments ONLY". I am experienced in treating a wide range of disorders including: phobias, addictions, depression, and anxiety, couples issues, divorce issues and trauma.

I specialize in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and eclectic modalities to tailor my approach to each client's unique needs.

I have served in the helping professions for several years and has had the opportunity to work with a multitude of populations. I completed my first degree in Industrial and organizational psychology and successfully guided many individual businesses to start existing in their purpose. After completing this Journey, I returned and received my second degree in Professional counseling and has since worked with teens, Adults and Seniors to address the needs they have related to esteem, goals and their identified purpose.

I conduct a private practice with a main purpose of providing an environment in which individuals feel empowered to change the quality of their lives in regards to communication, relationships, and mental health. I have had a variety of experiences with adolescents, inpatient mental health hospitals, mobile psychological evaluations, intensive inpatient and outpatient assessments, marriage & family therapy, in-home counseling, and residential treatment centers. I also provide christian based counseling where there is a need. It is my counseling goal to help provide the skills needed to achieve full body wellness.
