I also have a special certification in trauma therapy and am trained in EMDR therapy.
Every client has a story. I help my client explore their story, values and beliefs. I enjoy a client who likes to interact with these issues and want to work to see the "why" behind their beliefs and behaviors. I also enjoy clients who like to set goals for themselves and their relationships and are willing to work towards them.

My focus is to assist those struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, impulse control, daily life stressors, self harm, trauma, adolescents affected by parental conflict or divorce, behavioral outbursts and anger management issues, and youth transitioning into young adulthood.
I hope to be someone you can seek support from, but who can also help to guide you to feel more in control, more grounded, and better able to face everyday stressors that pop up along the way. I believe we all have the power to grow from challenges; we just need the right guidance and space to do so. I love walking alongside clients to help them navigate these challenges.

Do you feel as though you will never have a healthy relationship: with your family? with your significant other? with yourself? with food? Do you struggle to love and appreciate the person staring back at you in the mirror? Do you feel stuck in habits that result in self-sabotage and feelings of shame? Do you feel unworthy or undeserving of stability or contentment, so you turn to unhealthy eating patterns, toxic relationships, or substances? Maybe the trauma you have experienced has not been managed effectively and you don't have the tools to heal and feel relief.

My areas of strength are depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, self-harm, eating disorders, and stress management.
I am a mother of 2 boys, ages 21 and 25. I truly enjoyed every minute of raising them, even the hard moments. My oldest son is now married and in Seattle with his wife. My youngest is the fireball who has DiGeorge syndrome. It was challenging many times, but I have been his advocate through his entire life and still am to this day. I am now an empty nester with just my sweet dog Dixon, an American Eskimo.

My training has included learning how to improve relationships, increase happiness and joy, develop meaning and purpose, reduce anxiety and depression, recover from trauma and addictions, and enhance sleep and pain management.
Does your anxiety get in the way of doing things? Would you like to improve your relationships with a partner, family, friends, or coworkers? Do you feel down, unmotivated, or not as interested in things as you used to be? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, there is hope! You are not alone in these experiences, and many people have changed their lives through therapy. Therapy is a journey that we take together. There are many paths we can choose from to go in the direction you desire. Everyone is different, and your path is tailored to your needs, preferences, and values.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
