What keeps you up at night? What keeps you from being successful? I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, OCD, panic, phobias, health issues, sleep, teen issues, break-ups, & more.
I help you gain control over difficult issues QUICKLY to feel happier, healthier, and more fulfilled. First, we need the right understanding of the issue ... then I use research-based approaches to maximize benefit in as few sessions as possible. Many of my clients are high-functioning, working professionals who are experiencing symptoms they just can't shake - we work together to solve that and get you back to feeling good in your life. Even just 1 session of good therapy should feel very helpful.

Some people fear therapy as intimidating. You can be assured that it is just a conversation, and I want to hear your story. You have the strength and resources to achieve any goals that you set in life, with just a little guidance. You can enjoy the process of therapy and learn to love yourself at a deeper level. Calling a therapist can create a little bit of anxiety, but few therapists are as down-to-earth as me. Just take a slow, deep breath and give me a call at (956) 271-8487 or visit our website at inmindout.com

We provide supportive psychotherapy for patients with a serious illness or injury, who now live with chronic pain and impairment. It is not unusual to experience problems with stress, depression, and anxiety after a medical crisis, and to become isolated from the flow of life. You will be given an individual therapist to support you and help you learn about the specific skills, attitudes, and behaviors that help you slowly but steadily "push back" and regain quality of life.

My approach is to help you connect to your body and emotions in a way that helps you know yourself more deeply, feel more confident in your decisions. Using these methods, we can help, pull you out of depression & anxiety spirals.

Life sometimes takes us in directions that are unknown, unwanted, unexpected and out of our control. When it does, it can appear overwhelming and difficult to face these issues and emotions by ourselves. Sometimes we feel that is the only option in order to succeed. What we tend to forget is life is a journey that we should take as a community and not individually. We can overcome theses issues together. My role would be to ride alongside with you, supportively and with an open mind to help you achieve the life that best fits you.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
