When one person has problems, everyone in the family is affected. Sometimes the relationships themselves need work; but everyone needs to tell their story, to feel heard and validated. Everyone deserves to declare their voice, their identity. And sometimes, we all need a little help with telling others our needs and feelings.

With experience in numerous clinical settings, working with individuals of all ages, we pride myself on providing a warm and therapeutic environment for my clients. Our ultimate goal is to empower clients to discover their inner superhero and realize their distinctive aspirations.

I am a graduate of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas. My focus is on establishing a productive therapeutic relationship with clients in order to identify and build upon their strengths while finding a sense of ease in their own being. I can assist clients experiencing substance use disorder, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, and grief and loss. Together, we can develop coping and distress tolerance skills, make mindfulness and self-care daily practices, and improve communication and interpersonal effectiveness. I offer a friendly, non-judgemental ear and positive feedback.

With life having many challenges, so we begin with a goal to live each moment with sincere and serene grace, to laugh about at least one thing every day, and to love with passion and compassion. There is always hope for renewal and a bright future so long as we focus on our goals.

My name is Khandyce Pitner, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over seven years of experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, couples, and groups. I have worked with many individuals suffering from Anxiety, Depression, Trauma and PTSD, Coping Skills, Life Transitions, Substance Use, Low-SES, Women’s issues, and more. I use a mix of Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Eclectic, and Trauma Focused therapies. I believe that my passion is to guide, assist, and support you in recognizing and utilizing your most significant potential for change.

My therapeutic approach focuses on assisting you to explore, understand, and develop effective strategies to change life situations that cause trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and addictions. I assist clients to be heard in safe, emotionally secure setting with a personal therapeutic connection. Improving your quality of Life is the goal. I specialize in identifying the inappropriate stress coping techniques we use in dealing with daily life stress. Amanda Spencer, Psy.D, LCSW is Doctor of Psychology and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a concentration in Clinical Psychology which focuses on Rurality and Communities. Because of Dr. Amanda Spencer’s love for people, she has a diverse background and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma and Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused, Stress Management, Mood Management, Empowerment, increasing self-worth, Mind/body and connection, and Work life/balance integration.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with nine years of clinical experience, regularly working with individuals of all ages, addressing concerns such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, and Self Esteem. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a Person-Centered approach, and a combination of many other modalities to provide tailored counseling to each person I work with during therapy. I believe in working closely with each client to foster a relationship that encourages greater self-acceptance, leading to growth and change in their lives.

At the heart of the therapeutic relationship is connection! My passion is working with all types of individuals, believing that on the inside we have more likeness than differences. Together we explore individual and family history and establish goals for therapy. I provide them with education and support to take the steps towards desired change. Some know they have a substance use problem, others aren't sure, and still others have been affected by the disease of addiction throughout their childhood and/or adult relationships.
