I have been privileged to work in health care and now in the mental health field. Each of these experiences has taught me so much about healing and overcoming. I believe that as a therapist I am privileged to sit with clients during their dark moments and difficulties as well as their wins. I never want those who come to me for safety to worry that there will be judgement or shame. Taking care of yourself and your relationships should be a safe space.

My practice as a licensed clinical psychologist involves treating clients with multitudes of mental health concerns or just stressors of life. My goal is to be a collaborator rather than an expert in facilitating exploration, reflection, and consideration of alternative problem formulations and interventions. I empower clients by providing a safe, cooperative, nonjudgmental, & confidential environment so that folks may gain flexibility in their thinking and behavior. Through supportive therapy, I will assist clients in understanding how their perceptions, thoughts, and beliefs affect their behavior, mood, and self-esteem.

Welcome! My name is Jon Martinez. I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor, from Lubbock, TX, who works with gamers, adults and adolescents, and provides care for patients who struggle with anxiety, depression, or feel that they are stuck in life. I am an open minded, person centered, laid-back individual. I strive to provide a safe, relaxed, and accepting environment to meet in. We all deserve to have support, feel confident in our own skin, have peace with the past, and feel a purpose for the future. Life comes with so many obstacles, surprises, hiccups, and victories. How we allow our experiences to affect us and shape our behaviors and beliefs is ultimately what we are allowing shape our lives. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1990 and have observed individuals take back what has been stolen and be restored to healing and wholeness. We are Lubbock’s only multi-disciplinary group practice which means we have a diverse group of counselors with various specialties. At Journeys Counseling Center we know that counseling is still attached to stigma and it’s still very much an unknown to many people. Phoenix Moon Healing is a group counseling office owned by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S. Our Mission is to provide safety, empathy, and reflections through counseling services, yoga, groups, retreats, and coaching to support clients’ personal empowerment and healing. We currently have 4 full-time counselors who serve a wide range of populations with various modalities. We strive to assist clients in transforming from unworthiness and hopelessness into hope and an internal knowing of unconditional love and acceptance.
