Looking into the mirror of your life can be difficult. Be it your body changing or great loss, we are ever-evolving people, and sometimes we need help with making sense of the course of our lives. Often we get caught up in "the doing" of life to distract ourselves from the pain we are experiencing, but when you push your feelings underwater for too long, like a beach ball, they are bound to pop up. Sitting in the unrest of body image struggles, eating disorders, adolescence, and grief can be a daunting task. I know this personally and professionally and that's why I want to help.

As life takes unexpected turns through loss, new opportunity, or unanticipated routes, there are inevitably mental, physical, and social consequences. My approach to counseling is to engage clients in a values-based and goal-oriented fashion to help them navigate these transitions depending on their individual experiences and worldview. I offer clinical, career, relational, and grief counseling. I also specialize in stress-relief techniques utilizing heart rate variability software that can be completed in as little as 4 sessions.

We live in a world with set ideals and standards that weigh heavily on us pressing insurmountable expectations that we simply cannot meet. We also live with our own selves and our own minds putting the same demanding and unforgiving pressure on us. So, how might we break free into weightless grace? A jumping off point is beginning with “a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart" (Psalm 51:17). Our brokenness may range from depression, anxiety, grief, bitterness, addictions, shame, mental and emotional anguish and instability and are brought on by different variables such as trauma and attempting to shoulder this weight alone.

Areas of focus are, not limited to, use of EMDR therapy, Dissociative Disorders, “Tween” age (7-12yrs old) and Teen (13-19yrs old) TRAUMA, depression, identity issues, adult TRAUMA, (ADD/ADHD) attention deficit disorder, high functioning spectrum disorders, anxiety, PTSD, , coming out of abusive relationships, spiritual warfare, premarital counseling, blended family issues, marriage/family, grief/bereavement, parenting, teen age mentoring, children who may be struggling at home, in school, or new and significant changes in life as they have known it. Other areas of focus include divorce, play or art therapy methods of interaction.

I am passionate about empowering women to heal from the past, resolve unprocessed trauma, and learn themselves in a more authentic way. I am a self-proclaimed “hope dealer” with a passion for mental health. I have gained unparalleled experience by working collaboratively with TDCJ, local nonprofit organizations, and juvenile justice systems for approximately 6 years. My experience and areas of expertise include but are not limited to, abuse and neglect, post-traumatic stress, drug and alcohol misuse, childhood trauma, anger management, recovery support services, mental health and well-being, veterans, and women’s issues in both adult and adolescents.
