I provide supportive care to individuals struggling with anxiety related disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Are you or a loved one struggling to live a fulfilled life? Is it difficult to navigate the stress of everyday routines, or are your intrusive thoughts holding you back? These feelings can be exhausting, and it is easy to lose your sense of self. Unfortunately, most people learn to avoid the things that cause anxiety and stress, and they fall into a pattern of unhelpful behavior. This can lead to distancing yourself from meaningful relationships and feelings of shame and unhappiness.

OCD Counseling: Intrusive thoughts that won’t take no for an answer and compulsive behaviors that take time away from the things you love.
Couples Therapy: Communication has become stressful instead of safe. Minor annoyances escalate into fights where the same topic gets visited repeatedly with no resolution in sight, The friendship you both once had feels nonexistent. You’re looking for practical tools and safe conversations so you can both HEAR each other again. I offer an objective approach to reframe your dynamics and stabilize your interactions so you can get curious about each other again. Working together, we can map out a direction for your relationship that replenishes rather than exhausts and turns conflict into connection instead of collateral damage.

Mental illness lives. Anxiety lives. OCD lives. Addiction lives. Depression lives. Imagine millions of people around the universe waking up with the same dark, aching places you promised you’d never talk about. I’ve noticed how quick we are, as human beings, to push aside the most meaningful parts of our lives. Let’s not push aside the things that need to be talked about. Let’s bring mental illness to the light. The worst thing we can do is ignore it. It exists and it easily consumes. So if you’re struggling right now my role is to listen, discern your strengths and vulnerabilities, and invite growth as you place trust in my care.

I believe that everyone has the right to ask to seek mental health help as we do ask for physical help. Counseling personally helped me to know who I am and to enjoy my life by equipping me with valuable tools to navigate life's challenges. Because of the profound positive impact counseling had on my life, I am passionate about providing the same transformative support to others. Finally in general, I chose to become a counselor to advocate for better mental and emotional health awareness and to combat the stigma associated with seeking help.

Whether you are working through past trauma, recent trauma, getting through rough patches, seeking greater self-satisfaction, or looking for encouragement on a spiritual awakening, I can provide support. Exploring these life issues begins with a relationship built on trust, respect, warmth, and humor. Therapy, at its core, is an exchange of energy between therapist and client, an energetic reciprocation to begin the healing process, which is paramount to guiding a client to embrace their authentic self. This is my approach to assisting others to move through and into a better version of themselves.

Life is stressful. Sometimes we just need to talk with someone who understands our fears and anxieties and who can give us another perspective. In therapy, you and I will work to build a relationship where you feel support and encouragement to explore the areas you desire to change. We will look at the meaning you have placed on certain areas of your life, as well as your strengths and abilities to address life situations.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
