I value nurturing a safe, trusting relationship between therapist and client.
Welcome! Foremost, my goal is to provide a safe space for individuals and families to learn more about themselves and the current issues that led them to my office. I treat a range of emotional and behavioral concerns in children, adolescents, and adults; I work in individual, group, couples, and family formats. In addition, I provide comprehensive testing, including detailed analyses of attention, social, emotional, behavioral, and personality. My therapeutic technique is integrative; I incorporate research-based methods from the Gottman Method (Level 3 trained), CBT, ACT, interpersonal, and systemic theories.

Currently on a Waitlist. What happened to us? is a common thought many couples have. Life stressors, life events or simply new seasons of life can slowly dissolve a relationship, if we are not prepared. Individuals can go on autopilot and feel completely comfortable doing the same things every day. Unfortunately, if those same things are not helpful for the relationship, they can cause a lot of damage without even realizing it. Many events such as an infidelity, financial hardships, parenting challenges, a new baby, job loss, mental health can affect the stability of a couple.

Life throw us challenges, big and small. And sometimes we need someone to help us along the way. Are you someone who is struggling with depression, anxiety, perinatal/postpartum, fertility issues, or low self esteem/self worth? Maybe you're struggling in your marriage/relationship or in relationships in general. Or maybe you're going through a life transition that isn't what you expected and/or is challenging. Either way, you deserve brighter days and a quality of life that is worth living.

As a counselor in the USAF for 20 years, I have engaged with individuals, couples, and families as they have worked to address such things as anxiety, depression, shame, vulnerability, phase of life issues, grief and loss, relationship concerns, communication and anger management.
"We cannot be taught wisdom, we have to discover for ourselves by a journey which no one can undertake for us, and effort which no one can spare us," M. Proust. I provide counseling for those who are seeking a journey of discovery. Often we find ourselves in a place where we do not want to be and we are not sure where we can turn for help. It is at these troubling times that we seek guidance and assistance. If you would like to start down a road of personal discovery and make positive changes in your life, contact me now to begin a new chapter in your life.

I work with clients who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, relationship dissatisfaction, depression, anxiety, anger, and other issues.
If the whole world is a stage, as Shakespeare said, what part do you play? Are you simply acting out a part or are you living the part you want? Helping clients narrow the gap between their dreams and their real lives is a major thrust of my work. I help individuals, couples and families to both pinpoint their hearts' desires and figure out the best way to attain these dreams. A lifelong student of the human personality, I presented my original research on behavioral inhibition at Oxford University. My work was published in Oxford's professional journal, THE FORUM.

Every therapeutic relationship is unique and highly personal. The goal is to walk along the path of acknowledgment, compassion, growth, healing, and change in a safe supportive environment. It is in these moments that we can explore, discover, and develop. We focus on self-awareness, emotions, relationships, coping, and harnessing inner peace. Other areas of counseling may include focusing on responsibility, meaning of life, strengths, self-concept, acceptance, and change. As we walk this path, understand, I can do no work for you, but you do not have to do it alone.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
