Hey there, y'all! Welcome to my page. My name is Megan, and I'm from the country outside of Houston, TX. I live in the city now and began working inpatient in the Houston area in 2016. Primarily I have worked with adults with chronic mental illness, but I have experience with all types of clients. I consider mental health multi-faceted and am so happy to be able to help people develop a holistic approach to their own mental health. I emphasize the importance of spiritual, emotional, physical, sexual and intellectual health as a whole.

Everyone who comes in is experiencing some sort of crisis or breakdown in their life and wants some relief from their suffering and confusion. I provide a safe, calm, comforting environment that allows us to talk about the client's concerns and figure out a way to get through the crisis and learn how to prevent future breakdowns. This will include healing past wounds and learning how to use those breakdowns as stepping stones to positive breakthroughs in the future.

As a survivor of childhood sexual assault, physical and mental abuse, and rape, I understand how important it is to feel safe in your environment, which is why I offer Mobile Counseling. I come to you, in an environment of your choosing, because unless you feel safe and comfortable, your healing will not progress the way you need it to. I customize each treatment plan according to your needs, and adjust accordingly. I do not believe in cookie cutter counseling/therapy, as rape and violence is not cookie cutter. Additionally, I have expertise in working with adolescents, individually or within their family system, facilitating the process of developing independence, coping skills and positive sense of personal identity.

We've all heard that adage: "People go to therapy for the people in their life that WON’T go to therapy”, and it's funny because it's absolutely true! As a professional counselor, I have never met someone who didn't have a story. Everyone has PEOPLE! Everyone has family struggles and relationship issues. Everyone has trouble processing emotions when they feel overwhelmed. Everyone needs someone to confide in and feel safe with, and that's what therapy can be for you.
