As an experienced licensed psychologist, I am committed to helping my clients overcome obstacles and meet goals that will lead to lasting and meaningful changes in their lives. I provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life stressors, parenting challenges, attention-deficit disorder, and related behavioral disorders. I also conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults. Special interests include: child and adolescent therapy, treatment of abused children, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and gifted testing.

I am fluent in English and Spanish. I specialize in the treatment of a variety of issues associated with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, child/adolescent development and parenting. I have 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a school setting. My experience as a school counselor allows me to work effectively with families and school related issues. I also have extensive experience working with victims of domestic violence and providing grief counseling. I am CISM (Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) trained and a Love and Logic facilitator.

I am a child and teen therapist that specializes in helping kids and teens manage their feelings, anxieties and impulses. I support my clients to understand and verbalize their feelings as well improve social skills. I use both talk therapy and play therapy depending on the developmental level of my client. I view parents and myself as a team working together to help your child become the best version of themselves. I am an AutPlay Certified provider, I am currently working towards my certification to become a Registered Play Therapist and I am EMDR trained.

I deeply enjoy working with children and adults who believe a better life is possible, but lack the tools, self-esteem or support needed to overcome old patterns and create a meaningful existence. The kids I support in the playroom learn to communicate, manage their behavior, exhibit confidence, problem solve and positively relate to others. At the University of North Texas, I received both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2019 and my Master’s degree in Counseling in 2022. I have spent the last 4 years serving children 10+, teens and adults regarding a multitude of concerns.

I specialize in Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem and Body-Image. I am passionate about working with Individuals and Families as they experience positive change in their lives, and in their relationships. I work with Women, Children and Adolescents with ages ranging from 12 years old to women well into retirement! I have an amazing team of Dietitians, Psychiatrists, and Medical Professionals that join my treatment team on a daily basis! I'm available to work with you in my office, however I am happy to meet you to assist you in the challenges of meal outings, clothing/grocery shopping, and even work events!

Christi Moreno is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Comfort and Joy Therapy. She received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP program and enjoys working with children (7+), adolescents, and adults of all ages. She enters every counseling relationship with a person-centered approach and uses a variety of counseling techniques and theories as appropriate for specific client situations. Techniques and theories could include elements from Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Adlerian Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, Art Therapy, and many others.

The challenges facing children and teens today are exceptional, as well as navigating parenting in a world bound with pressures from every area of life.
