My clients come from many situations. Mostly they come to me with brokenness, some are addicted to drugs, alcohol and/or sex. Some struggle inside their marriages. Others arrive with deep longings to be of value or feel worthy. I see a large number of men with sexual addiction. I see wives that feel traumatized and betrayed. Hello! I am Jairo Suarez and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and National Certified Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas, Houston. I have experience counseling adolescents, adults, couples and families in areas like parenting, domestic violence education, processing trauma, anger management, self-esteem, and grief. My experience as an immigrant has made me sensitive to the hardships faced by marginalized groups. I understand how it feels to be lost, confused, and isolated and I hope to provide a safe place for my clients to experience connection.

ADHD is often misunderstood, and by default, so are those who suffer from it. For this reason, it often goes undetected for many years. Un-diagnosed children are often seen as lazy and unmotivated or defiant and lacking discipline. As they transition into adolescence, symptoms of anxiety or depression may surface. As adults, they continue to struggle with underachieving, believing that "if they only tried harder" things could be better. ADHD often impact people mentally, emotionally, socially and physically. The effects are often painful and long-lasting. It can be equally frustrating for loved ones who want to help.

The Katy DBT Center follows in the tradition of the Houston DBT Center in striving for excellence of care and precision in treatment of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). We require all of our therapists to be experienced and well trained in the implementation of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is an evidence-based, modern behavioral therapy originally developed to treat individuals with the then "difficult" symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD). Due the the advent of DBT, BPD is now a good prognosis diagnosis and individuals receiving DBT treatment may expect to eventually no longer meet criteria for BPD.

Allen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed his graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary in Counseling and his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in Psychology.
