Hi, I'm Jennifer. I help clients of all ages learn to set boundaries, voice their wants and needs, and work on self-esteem issues. My clients come to me with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationships, chronic dating, family issues, dissociative disorders, and painful childhoods. I strive to create a partnership where we work together, allowing you to explore anything on your mind and transform into your ideal future self.

Specializing in trauma, sexual abuse, men’s/couples issues, and PTSD, I work with adults and adolescents. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, as well as being certified in NeuroPsychotherapy, I have a passion for seeing people find hope and healing by looking at how the brain and body respond to trauma. It is important for you as the client to know that I am for you and with you every step of the way. Greetings to you! My core value as a therapist is that all clients deserve unconditional support and service. I am a POC (black and indigenous) and have vast experience counseling clients from marginalized populations and clients from 'alternative' communities. My approach is inclusive, trauma informed, and client centered; come as you are and know you will be in a safe, respectful, supportive space as we listen to each other and make progress in your therapeutic recovery.

I am passionate about working with young adults struggling with work life balance, self-esteem, ADHD and relationship stresses. Together, we will identify your goals for therapy, formulate an achievable plan and apply tailored therapeutic techniques to set you up on the road for success. We will gain more awareness and understanding of your thoughts, emotions and chosen behaviors. With increasing insight and clarity, we can begin to make intentional moment-to-moment decisions, to move towards a more integrated, meaningful and values-based life.

I have a zeal for learning ways to inspire and help others. I came to Texas by way of the inner city of Northern New Jersey, and by the way of civil war ravaged Liberia in West Africa. I have learned that relationships continually call us to develop greater consciousness through shedding old beliefs and ways in order to grow. Relationships compel us to bring forth the light of awareness within all of us to engender the courage to be more of the deeper sense of who we are. My approach to counseling germinates from this disposition.

The path from growing up quietly queer in a small Midwestern town to living as an out lesbian in the 4th largest city in the country has informed my work within the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that knowledge is an integral part of building acceptance and pride in oneself and the community, and I am eager to continue working with people in all stages of the coming out process. Most recently, my focus has been on HIV prevention and treatment; I am passionate about working with clients who are at high risk for exposure, entering treatment, or working to maintain viral suppression.
