My goal is to provide a safe place for you to receive unconditional support and a place to be heard and understood. My hope is to help you gain self-awareness, self-esteem, empowerment, clarity and healing. I feel we are all on our personal recovery journey and are striving to live an authentic life. I truly believe that great change and recovery are possible with the right support.

If you feel like things are harder these days, you aren’t alone. You’re trying to balance it all, keep your head above water, and make it look easy - after all - everyone else makes it look easy. But it isn't easy at all. I provide a non judgmental space where you can take time to attend to you instead of everyone else. In my work with my clients, we explore the things that may feel too big or scary to say out loud and come to find that once we acknowledge them, we can work on making them better.

Workplace stress, relationship challenges, financial difficulty and complicated family issues can become overwhelming, especially when you feel fatiqued, anxious, depressed, confused or alone. You may even begin to lose hope for the possibility of ever getting what you want and living a happy, productive life. Life was meant to challenge us, but when those challenges become more than we can handle, who can we turn to for that extra support or even just a listening ear? Challenges can come in any form, whether it be in your marriage, from family conflict, or parenting struggles, I make it my goal to walk alongside you in whatever ways you need.

I imagine if you're here, it's because you're hurting. Things aren't going the way you want them to: Maybe your marriage or relationship isn't bringing you the joy it used to, or maybe it's driving you downright nuts. Maybe you aren't speaking to your kids, or maybe you are the kid or teen that just can't seem to get along with your parents or the people around you. Maybe things have gotten so bad that you've contemplated hurting yourself or suicide. Perhaps you're grieving a loss, a person, a job, a relationship. Or maybe you've tried to figure out why you're not as happy as you could be and you just can't.

There is nothing wrong with you. You don't have to earn your worthiness, you are innately good, just as you are. My work centers on helping clients let go of painful shame and self-criticism, and move towards offering themselves kindness and acceptance. You are not alone in your suffering. Therapy can help dissolve your feelings of isolation, so you can connect with yourself and others in a meaningful way.

My name is Berit Benson and as the owner of Path & Purpose Therapy, I help young adults and millennials deal with the everyday challenges of modern life. They're dealing with everything from relationships and family pressures to chronic illness and addiction. They're feeling stressed and overwhelmed, or they might be feeling numb and disconnected. They're heading in new directions and navigating big transitions or they might be feeling stuck and unable to move forward in life. No matter what, they all share something in common: They're struggling in some way and are ready to assess the situation and take action.

Suffering is a real thing in this world, such things as grief, depression, addiction, social skills, communication, parenting, dating, marriage, identify and other issues that can cripple a person. I offer professionally competent Biblically sound counseling for those that may be struggling and I know that reaching out for help is hard and telling your story to someone you don't even know can be scary and I completely understand that. I want to encourage you to take a step in faith and ask for help. Time will me will be safe, confidential and filled with purpose.

Nanci Loren is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Psychotherapist who graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work. Ms. Loren received her Master of Science in Social Work in Clinical Practice. She works with all ages, from child to senior citizen and couples composed of various genders. She coordinates with her clients to help them become the best version of themselves and to achieve their goals. Ms. Loren specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, abuse, women's issues, change of life, trauma, grief and loss, PTSD, LGBTQ, and a the gamut of mental health issues.
