Family Service Center is a counseling agency in Galveston County serving individuals of all ages and their families. FSC also collaborates and provides services at multiple community-based settings to best serve client needs. FSC employs a professional staff of skilled clinicians who hold degrees in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or closely related disciplines. Our clinicians join clients in identifying solutions to meet and respond to life's challenges. FSC's programs include the Individual and Family Program, the Juvenile Justice/Oasis Program, the STAR Program, the Community Support Services Program, Prevention and Outreach Services, and Victim Support Services.

I Provide individual and family therapy to ages 7-100, encompassing all presenting problems with a special interest in treating those with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, Bi-Polar disorder, and high-risk adolescents and families in crisis. I am skilled in numerous therapy modalities and create individualized treatment plans to meet specific client needs. I provide client-centered therapy, so that the client's goals are met and their personal success is long-term. Your relationship with your therapist is a major factor in the outcome of your therapy. I will do my best to foster a trusting and supportive relationship.

I work primarily with adults and adolescents who are having trouble negotiating difficult life stages. I treat both short-term, acute problems and more pervasive, long-standing problems. My years of training, first in CBT, and later in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches allow me to use both in my practice. The client and I decide on treatment approaches based on his or her strengths and preferences.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor with over 19 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have worked in several areas which include schools, court systems, home health, outpatient mental health centers, and oncology. I have spent my career working in a wide range of areas that include but are not limited to relationships, parent/child dynamics, family conflicts, adolescence, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, caregivers, chronic illness, and health issues.

I am most passionate about helping strengthen couples as the foundation for the family and helping adult clients flourish through Christ-centered couple's and mental health therapy to achieve their God-given purpose. Particularly important for couples therapy is understanding that your relationship is the client; and I am passionate about strengthening the client. I will listen carefully with compassion, allowing each individual a voice and I WILL NOT take sides. I'm on the side of your relationship and here to help each person take ownership of it, draw upon its inner resources and rediscover its goals and purpose.

An authentic therapeutic relationship is one of the most significant pieces to effective therapy. My approach to therapy is warm and direct, and my practice is guided by an array of therapies and theoretical perspectives. Wherever you are in your life that's where we'll start. We will work together at a pace that feels safe, and as our relationship deepens so will the work we do. I am experienced in working with clients who have a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship/ attachment issues, grief and loss, existential issues, and people who identify as highly sensitive (HSPs).

I believe that when you are struggling with all the issues life brings, it can be very difficult to find the peace of mind and the answers that you seek. I also believe that being able to speak with a "Neutral Party" allows you to be free from judgment and the pressures of impressing others.
