My typical client is looking for themself, their purpose, and may be having a lot of extensional questions about the meaning of life. Contrary to public belief, you are here, and thankfully you don't have to look any further! You don't need to go on Eat, Pray, Love 3-month excursion, unless you want to, of course. Sometimes these thoughts and challenges are caused by trauma, life transitions, or a mental health concern.

I thoroughly enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan and creating a space to communicate and express their needs in a way that is comfortable and developmentally appropriate. My goal is to provide a space that is welcoming and non-judgemental for clients to share, process, feel heard and supported through the many different aspects of life. I am grateful to be able to serve the Katy, Memorial Area, Sugarland, Richmond and surrounding communities.

I received my MA in Clinical Psychology from SHSU in 1987 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an LSOTP. I began my career within the Texas prisons, working in the psychiatric unit. I then worked as a psychotherapist at West Oaks Psychiatric Hospital and Willowbrook Psychological Assoc. In late 1989, I returned to criminal justice arena working with sexual predators and was the first director for the SO treatment program within TDCJ. I now have a private practice, of 30 years, treating a variety of issues including anger management, anxiety, grief counseling, PTSD, secondary trauma, and female hormonal issues.

Instilling hope and resilience through treatment is a hallmark of our work in this sacred space! As a LGBTQ cis woman of color, I have both lived & clinical experience that attest to the importance of using a culturally-centered & trauma-informed approach that gives my clients the space to heal, no matter their background. My priority is to allow my clients the space to learn to go through their healing journey on their own terms, and hold space for them when the journey feels insurmountable. I believe that connecting to one's human-ness allows an empowering platform that allows clients to reach their full potential.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with clinical experience treating substance use and co-occurring disorders. Some of the issues I frequently work with include: alcohol and drug use, process addictions, anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and challenges related to life transitions.
