If you're struggling with turning to food for comfort, feeling guilty and ashamed after eating, and worrying about eating WAY too much, then you're in the right place. Whether you tend to overeat because of stress, turn to emotional eating to soothe yourself, or binge eat, you want to understand why this is happening so you can stop it. You're tired of hiding it and feeling out of control. You want to be able to watch a TV show at night and not be obsessively thinking about the sweets in the pantry. You're ready to feel good around food, drop the constant self-judgment about what you eat, and wake up feeling good in the morning.

Compassion, purpose, and committed action are the driving forces of my practice. I believe in every individual's freedom and choice to overcome and learn from the challenges they experience, and that when we are truly supported, we can achieve our goals and live the lives we desire. I say this in reflection of my experiences working with people with a history of trauma and a variety of other mental health concerns. Life can get very difficult at times, and I know the importance and impact of therapy from all angles. You are capable of living a life aligned with your values, one of peace, and of deep presence.

Do you feel stuck? Are you tired of working so hard and feeling like nothing ever changes? As human beings, we are creatures of habit. The way we think, reason and relate are based on patterns that have developed throughout our lives. If you continue to think - alone - about your struggles, you'll likely remain stuck in the same patterns. As human beings, we are also relational creatures. We learn about ourselves when we are in relationships with others. It is essential for any person's growth and development to think - with - another person.

On the outside, everyone thinks you've got it all together. You're good at putting on a smile and pushing through. You've been checking the boxes in life but still feel overwhelmed, tired and feel that you're running out of time. You're wondering if things should be this difficult? You've contemplated making some changes in your life, but are worried what others may say, or whether you'd be making a big mistake.

Do you feel overwhelmed or like your world has suddenly turned upside down? Overthinking and can’t seem to get out of your head? Or maybe you’re a worried parent of a teen who isn’t acting like they used to? It can be challenging for both teens and adults to deal with self-defeating thoughts, overwhelming emotions, life changes, never-ending to-do lists, bullying, as well as stress from school, work, or relationships- especially in a social media, post-pandemic, and technology-driven world. As a therapist, I work with my clients on better managing stress, negative and anxious thoughts, and developing personalized coping skills.

If you feel like things are harder these days, you aren’t alone. You’re trying to balance it all, keep your head above water, and make it look easy – after all, everyone else makes it look easy - but it isn't easy. In my work with my clients, we explore the things that may feel too big or scary to say and come to find that once we acknowledge it, we can work on making it better. I aim to provide a judgement free space where you can show up as who you really are. Everyone needs a place to let their guard down.

Let's face it. You've tried therapy before. It wasn't for you, and truly people don't understand you anyway. What would happen if you tried it one more time? Maybe you're wondering what life would look like if you started learning coping skills and began healing. Life can be challenging, and you don't have to venture through it alone. We can navigate through this together. As your therapist, I commit to supporting you on this adventure and beyond!

A child’s behavior is telling a story of what is going on inside. Many times, when our kids are reaching out for connection, they will behave in ways that create the opposite response. When a child is struggling to find positive ways to relate, our team of therapists come alongside them and their family to help them feel more understood, empowered, connected and loved. I believe in conducting therapy in partnership with families, pediatricians, teachers, and other specialists to ensure that each child receives a personalized treatment plan that is reinforced in all settings.

Life transitions can be particularly challenging for teenagers, as they navigate the complexities of identity formation, high school to college transitions, peer pressure, and family expectations. I believe that these transitions should be viewed as opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and resilience building. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, I empower teenagers to develop coping mechanisms, enhance their self-awareness, and make informed choices during these pivotal moments in their lives.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
