There are times in life where people feel stuck. There are many reasons for these situations. For adolescents, it can be mainly attempting to establish identity or a voice and the resulting anxiety from trying to navigate their world. For older teens, some are left with the confusion and fear of how to transition to adulthood and the question of failing. For adults, of course, we are supposed to have it all figured out. The truth is people may not be living true to their values or believe the mistakes made are too great to overcome. Maybe there was an anxiety or trauma so great it governs the choices made; Even from caregivers.

I can help you with sensitivity, childhood traumas, and personal growth. I offer non-judgmental compassion and empathy, I want to guide you in helping your whole self through holistic practices. Welcome! I'm Jennifer Caballero, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in grief and loss. We are all impacted by grief during our lifetime and yet grief is something that we rarely talk about as a society. Grief is a normal response to any loss. It has no timeline, easy fix, or specific set of instructions for healing. I believe grief is not pathological, or a problem that needs to be "fixed" or "gotten over." Grief is a journey that is unique to everyone. My approach is to help you identify how grief shows up and impacts your life while providing coping skills that allow you to incorporate grief into your ongoing story.

Relationships are complicated, and we all need someone to occasionally help us make sense of our current situation. I am committed to working with high school and college students as well as women of all ages. Women face unique issues and experiences. Motherhood, work and school stress, family conflict, self-doubt, and other problems can add up. Come spend some time taking care of yourself when the demands of life become overwhelming. Learning healthy communication and coping skills can really make a difference for many people. The right therapy after a traumatic event is essential. I am trauma trained in EMDR therapy.

Dreading another day of waking up overwhelmed by worry, sadness, and the feeling that you have lost all control? Maybe you have experienced things that leave you feeling weighed down by an unshakeable weight. Anxiety and trauma can feel like being numb one moment then on-edge or jumpy the next. You may find yourself irritable at times and wanting to avoid lots of things to maintain calm, making it difficult to manage everyday tasks and healthy relationships. These heavy feelings can yield what feels like chaos and helplessness in our lives. Enlisting support is the next best step and gives you the ability to feel empowered again!

If you are someone struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, chronic health issues, addiction, trauma (shock, complex and/or attachment trauma), and/or having a hard time living life to its fullest, and you want a safe place to learn, grow and heal, I might be able to help. Sometimes talk therapy alone is enough to resolve whatever ails you, but when there is chronic stress or trauma that has persisted in the mind/body for a prolonged period, therapies that take a "bottom up" approach can have more of a lasting impact.

Amanda spent many years working in the service industry before pursuing a career in clinical social work. While working in this industry, the various injustices in society and stigmas relating to mental health and trauma became more prevalent. Amanda realized that she could no longer remain silent and left this industry to pursue a career that would allow her to bring awareness to mental health stigmas as well as offer supportive counseling to individuals in need.

Life stressors and painful experiences can be debilitating for children, teens and young adults. The constant feeling of impending doom and being paralyzed by fear can be crippling after traumatic experiences, as well as grief and loss, often leading to seasons of anxiety and/or depression. This dark cloud in the back of your head can foster feelings of low self-esteem, impair judgement leading to poor choices and destructive behavior, cause self-doubt and distorted self-image, inhibit academic and employment goals and disrupt relationships.
