I have experience working with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma or are going through a life transition.
Life can be challenging, and at times, it can be very stressful. Are you feeling overwhelmed? It's like you can't handle another thing added to your plate. Do you need help finding the motivation to complete simple daily tasks? If you are avoiding places or people out of fear or in a new season of life, you are probably dealing with heightened emotions. Here is some good news: you are not alone in this struggle, and I am here to help you work through what you're going through by meeting you where you are and helping you get where you want to be.

My passion is working with adults and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, work/life balance and life transitions.
Seeking help and finding the right therapist for you can be a daunting and challenging process. The key to positive, lasting change is finding a therapist who will tailor your treatment based on your individual needs and strengths, and help you overcome the bahaviors and thoughts that are getting in your way. You need someone who will listen and understand you without judgement, support you through these changes, be honest with you, and challenge you when needed.

The only thing constant is change - without change there is no growth. Without growth our lives become stagnant and we do not realize our full potential or adapt to necessary changes or losses. Changes over the last few years have been very difficult. Although we all experience changes, we do not all adapt in the same way. Some see change as an opportunity for adventure. Some see change as a frightening challenge. And finally, others are totally incapacitated and freeze when presented with choices or opportunities to change or grow.

I work with primarily adolescents (12+) and young adults on building and maintaining healthy relationships, transitioning to new chapters in life, emotional regulation and anxiety-related concerns.
Hey there! I’m Tori and I’m a therapist with a passion for guiding others to personal fulfillment. Health and wellness have been something I’ve had a fond interest for and experience in most of my life. While we like to consider health as pertaining to our body, the mind is our most powerful muscle. I like to think our minds and bodies link together to shape us into who we are! My approach is client-centered in nature, meaning it’s all about you and every aspect of you! Together we’ll collaborate on making life’s difficulties less challenging and becoming the best version of yourself.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
