Although my expertise covers a wide range of mental health areas, my focus has been on adolescents and families experiencing problems with adapting to life challenges. I have often worked with children and adolescents on couples and families on relationship issues and life transitions. Relationships grow and evolve as individuals move to different stages of life. Maintaining healthy relationships during times of change requires focused attention on individual and family systems needs. Life goals and long term aspirations can be distorted by near term priorities.

Hola, my name is Francisca. I am Mexican-American, first generation, and bilingual clinician. I live and practice in Austin, Texas. I grew up speaking Spanish as my primary language and learned English at a young age. Every single one of us is beautifully complex with unique backgrounds and my approach is giving light to those. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Since graduating, I have focused on the children/adolescent population in talk therapy and play therapy. Play therapy is a style of counseling that provides a safe place to express self through the natural communication of the age group/stage child is in. Play therapy affords the opportunity to teach coping skills and concepts on that same communication level.

Shayna graduated with a Clinical Social Work Degree from The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota. Her focus was working with children and families in the child-welfare sector. She has worked in a variety of settings including medical social work, school social work, and outpatient programs for older individuals with mental illness. Shayna has been in private practice for the past 10 years. She treats a variety of conditions including Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma, and those living with Chronic medical condition(s).

I am Jenifer James, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the behavioral health field for 8 years, a therapist for the past 5 years, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have professional experience working with children, teens, and adults. I formally provided counseling services in-home, in a middle school clinic, at a university college clinic, and within a community healthcare clinic. I have experience in helping clients coping with addictions, relationship issues, anxiety, self-esteem, confidence, & depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
