If you struggle with anxiety and want to find peace, joy, and clarity in your life, you have found the right therapist. I know the struggle of feeling on edge, over thinking, irritability, low self worth, and self doubt. Maybe you have difficulty enjoying things in the present moment because you’re constantly "on the go", your mind gets distracted or stressed. I’m more than happy to help you transform these symptoms, get to the root of the issues, and find your inner peace. Therapy with me is more than just talking or venting. I’ll engage you in effective techniques and provide you the tools needed to feel happy.

Our life experiences and our relationships with others create a unique story about our lives. There are times when this story unfolds in beautiful harmony and there are times that it seems like life is a hot mess. My approach to counseling is to help individuals, couples, and families discover pathways to finding peace and joy in the present and hope for the future. This may involve digging into past experiences and relationships to find different meaning and/or evaluating the circumstances of the present. Counseling offers an opportunity for everyone that is as unique as the fingerprints we leave in the course of our lives.

My passion is in working with children and their parents and caregivers. Honoring each and every child and the unique challenge and need they bring into the therapeutic playroom is my honor and a responsibility I hold sacred. Regardless of whether these changes are expected or unexpected, I am confident that together, we can embrace these changes in the midst of joy or grief & become our own resources as we learn new ways to approach the issue or the situation. This is the heart of my therapeutic approach. I believe individuals, couples, & families have the ability to change. I am ready to walk with you on your journey & look forward to discovering ways which strengthen your approach to life's changes.

I can help you and your loved ones work towards achieving the emotional safety that every human needs to feel deeply safe and satisfied in our relationships.

YOU are a priority! My desire to serve others is connected to many personal, and professional life experiences that allow me to have a unique perspective in understanding where my clients and their loved ones are coming from. I am a firm believer that with the right tools and some determination, we can challenge our negative thought processes and overcome anything. No one is hopeless. As Albert Einstein once said, “In the middle of every difficulty, lies opportunity.”

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT) Therapists

Does parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) work?

PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective across domains, including for children with behavioral problems, those on the autism spectrum, and those who have experienced early childhood trauma. Further, studies have found that the skills developed through PCIT benefit not only the child in therapy but also siblings, as the parent internalizes lessons learned in sessions and is able to incorporate them into interactions with other family members.

How long does PCIT last?

The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and treatment lasts, on average, between 12 and 20 sessions. Factors that influence treatment duration include how regularly a client attends treatment, how much progress is achieved between sessions, the particular skills that need development, and the extent to which the parent and therapist see improvement.

Can PCIT be done online?

PCIT is among the therapy types best suited for video sessions. Therapists are able to communicate with parents with essentially the same ease, and by observing the parent and child at home in their normal environment, the therapist may gain additional insight into their interactions, as the child will have their normal toys and may feel more comfortable and act more naturally than they would in a therapist’s room.

Does PCIT help parents?

In addition to the skills parents develop through the treatment, PCIT has also been shown to reduce frustration, stress, and depression in parents and promote confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with their children. The desired outcomes of PCIT include a reduction in defiant and aggressive behavior by children and an improvement in communicating their feelings productively, complying with parental instruction, and behaving according to parents’ rules. Growth in these areas can be a relief for parents.
