Hey! I am Laura Tanner a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified in Oncology with over a decade supporting those facing chronic and terminal illnesses. I see those who may be facing life adjustment due to medical crisis, trauma, and chronic illness. Along with supporting those experiencing anxiety and feeling the impact of daily stressors. My hope for my clients is that they find this space a place of warmth, kindness, & feel heard.

I have been counseling individuals in Texas for 8 years. Some of the areas I provide counseling for are those struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, life stressors, work stressors, divorce and separation, anger management, impulse control, substance abuse and relapse prevention. Together with the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we work on setting attainable goals and developing appropriate coping skills for triggers of those unwanted symptoms. Working together to eliminate these symptoms and develop a relapse prevention plan to prevent them from returning.

As a teacher and athletic coach, I experienced the transformational power of a caring adult in the lives of adolescents and became a school counselor in order help more kids. My life has led to a journey of hope, and I am passionate about helping others transform their path of suffering to a similar journey of hope.
