Bethany has over 12 years of experience in working with adolescents and adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit (ADHD/ADD), personality disorders, and substance use disorders.

I’m not here to tell you what’s wrong with you or how to live your life. I have been a counselor for more than 30 years. I remain passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and believe that genuine caring is an essential element to an effective counseling relationship. Over the years I have worked with clients with significant trauma and loss. I consider it a privilege to stand with another individual as he or she resolves great pain. I am currently seeing clients exclusively via telemedicine (secure video platform). I am able to see clients in Texas, Kansas, Alabama, and California.

My counseling practice focuses on adolescent and adults with a specialized focus on LGBTQ+ populations. As a gay man, I am held by deeply spiritual beliefs to help my LGBTQ+ community whenever possible. I also treat addiction, dual-diagnosis, spirituality, anxiety, gender identity, depression, divorce, grief and those who are recovering from religious abuse. I meet clients where they are in life and that is always my starting point while building a relationship to facilitate change.

We all face difficult and confusing times. My goal is to assist clients in a confidential and compassionate environment by providing therapy services in the home. My specialties include issues of aging, grief and bereavement, chronic illness, and life transitions. I spent many years working as a hospice social worker. It was a natural transition to have a practice that comes to the client', hopefully with dignity and humor. I have a passion for senior issues and learn from my clients daily.

I have extensive experience in career counseling and executive coaching. For the past 15 years I have worked in person and virtually with thousands of clients globally. I also assist adolescents in college coaching. We work together to match their interests with colleges. I then provide guidance throughout the entire college application process.
