I utilize a variety of methods, including nutritional recommendations, trauma-focused mindful movement, expressive therapy, the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), EMDR, neurofeedback, and the Safe and Sound Protocol, an auditory treatment developed by Dr.
Typically, clients come to see me when their previous experiences with traditional "talk" therapy haven't helped to resolve their symptoms. Trauma and stress have an emotional, psychological and physical impact, but we often need to start treatment at the most basic level: calming the nervous system. I see clients who are experiencing chronic pain, illness, addiction, PTSD and other common co-occurring disorders including Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES). All of these issues can be treated using empirically proven techniques that address the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

EMDR therapy is a helpful intervention for trauma and PTSD.
Are you asking yourself "How can I manage overwhelming feelings of anxiety and panic?" "How can I stop my mind from racing with anxious thoughts?" Or perhaps trauma you suffered has led to intense and overwhelming emotions such as fear, anger, guilt, shame, sadness, or numbness. Are you seeking counseling through a biblical lens? People seeking Christian counseling may be facing a wide range of issues and challenges with the added dimension of seeking therapy within a faith-based framework. Christian counselors aim to provide a safe and compassionate space for clients to explore their concerns while integrating their faith.

Change can be difficult - but with support it becomes possible. You might be struggling with difficult thoughts like "what if my family never accepts my life choices - will they ever accept me?" Perhaps you're battling indecisiveness and fear about whether you're "good enough" to succeed, preventing you from reaching your aspirations and goals? Or maybe you feel confident and successful at times, but at other moments as if your shield for taking on the world is paper-thin? I utilize methods including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help resolve these concerns.

It’s gotten to the point where you can’t ignore all those events you lived through. You’ve been to therapists before, but it just felt like you were paying to complain instead of getting better. Now you’re distracting yourself any way you know how. Keeping busy until you collapse at the end of the day. You drink more wine than you probably should. And you’re up late watching TV, to keep your mind quiet. You know that you need to rip off the bandaid and trying something new, but you’re scared-- what if therapy is just like last time? that bandaid has been the only thing holding you together. You need a therapist who is kind enough to

Utilizing trauma-informed narrative work, emotionally focused attachment therapy, somatic processing, and EMDR, I help individuals and couples navigate and heal from past wounds.
Our trauma is not merely an event; it's a deeply felt wound narrating stories of harm, neglect, and betrayal, deeply embedded in the fabric of our being. It interrupts our narrative, demanding to be acknowledged and engaged with. I believe sharing our story and mourning our wounds serves to both honor and restore dignity to the parts of ourselves that have faced shame and harm. My passion lies in assisting clients by helping them tell their stories and gently uncovering the pain, thereby revealing paths to healing and growth, leading to thriving life patterns, enriching relationships, and building a resilient, secure sense of self

Modalities like CPT, CBT, EMDR, and DBT are used to create a toolkit to address these issues and struggles.
My focus in the counseling process is to meet individuals in their current life stage and work collaboratively to address any issues. As no two people are the same, the aim of treatment is to personalize the process with treatment goals to address unique needs. One main goal is to provide everyone with the tools and support to manage struggles, feel more confident and capable, and continue to grow and explore their own lives. I am passionate about working with professionals, young adults, college students, and adolescents as they navigate changes in their world and development.

I utilize EMDR, IFS/parts work techniques, mindfulness, somatic work, and DBT skills.
Hi and welcome! It's a brave and vulnerable step to consider therapy, so I acknowledge the strength it took you to take this first step to find help. You may be feeling low, burnt out, anxious, traumatized, and in need of a break. While there are no quick fixes in therapy, I have helped many clients build resilience, find peace, and gain strength. Prior to my role as therapist, I worked at an inpatient psychiatric facility and in a DBT IOP, but therapy is my favorite. I value it in my own life, and I put a lot into the work I do with clients.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
