As I guide you through a variety of experiential skill building and relationship education, you will learn to identify your values, needs, and wants in order to be able to articulate them effectively and ultimately start building the connections you desire in your professional and personal life.
As a human being, we can struggle to find our identity and place in this world. We struggle with time management, discipline, and purpose. We want more from life but we don't know how to break through the barrier. Similarly, in relationships we tend to struggle to connect, communicate, and resolve issues. We need to have a desire to do the hard work to grow together, build, and maintain connection.

Making the decision on which therapist to work with is based on many factors. Perhaps the most important factor is finding someone you are comfortable with so they can be of help. My goal in working with clients is to start by establishing a nonjudgmental, yet honest, relationship that is supportive enough to explore topics and gain insight into issues most relevant to them. I have experience working with clients from all backgrounds with a variety of difficulties, including relationship issues, life transitions, depression, identity struggles, anxiety, and grief.

As co-founder of the Embody Love Movement 501(c)(3), she supports girls and women in their relationship with food, emotional wellness, and self-esteem.
Whether you are seeking change and unsure of where to begin, or want to understand yourself better and manage emotions in a new way, therapy can help. It also provides privacy and compassion around the core needs of being accepted, loved, and valued. Research suggests you are more likely to have a better therapy experience if you can relate to and trust your therapist. The first step is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Lynch. Together, we will explore your questions, and consider the degree distress is interrupting your relationships, work/school, and overall life satisfaction.

I have training and experience working with adults and college students with a wide range of concerns: anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, identity and relationship concerns, and life transitions, including career and parenthood.
I believe each person has unique strengths and experiences to successfully navigate life's challenges. However, sometimes, we find ourselves feeling stuck: struggling with depression or anxiety, stressed by our many roles in life, overwhelmed by loss, or holding the pieces of broken relationships, unable to find a way out on our own. My goal is to create a collaborative, culturally-sensitive and compassionate space in which I offer personally-tailored interventions for your situation while working with you to identify and utilize your own strengths to bring about positive change in your life.

Buried and unmet needs surface when dealing with issues of anxiety or depression in individuals and most surely in conflict resolutions amongst couples and families.
Life can seem a series of barriers and obstacles that present difficulties in allowing us to be our full and authentic self. How we think and what we believe, whether true or not, often drive our perceptions towards actions. Gaps can exist in our own self-image and what we tell ourselves. Sometimes the gap is based on past experiences and labels others may have placed on us. I believe that bridging these gaps in understanding can be transformative and freeing. However, the steps to seek assistance in exploring how we are affected by these deeply held beliefs can be a tough one.

Our therapeutic relationship is vitally important.
Life Pushes, and when it does, it can feel as though your world has tilted on its axis. Stress brings with it storms: emotional, physical, relational, financial, spiritual, including storms unique to caring for aging parents. When these storms come, it helps to have someone to trust with your story; someone to hold the "flashlight" figuratively speaking, in order to help you identify your life values, navigate your personal goals, and develop tools so your energy is spent living your life instead of existing. It is my desire to help you develop ways to exchange your current stress for strength.

A therapist can be helpful in times of transition, or when it is time to put some deep thought into why you may be feeling stuck, in a bad relationship or depressed. Our world is a complicated place with external influences adding confusion to our choices. We may invest a great deal of time and money in many things, but we neglect our inner world. Yet our inner world affects all of our decision making. Therapy can help us discover our true, often neglected selves. I offer both psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I am a graduate of the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center, Psychoanalytic training. I have additional training in alcoholism.

Individuals often seek therapy when they are confronted by problems that seem dark or difficult to overcome such as, depression, anxiety, relationship issues but these problems can call us to higher consciousness and greater psychological and spiritual health.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor to which we each bring different knowledge and life experiences. You are the expert on your life and have the resources to help you meet your goals. I bring my life experiences, my training and knowledge to assist you in meeting your goals. As a Jungian my knowledge entails understanding the psyche which is another word for soul. As an aide to understanding the soul I published a book entitled, The Journey: An Archetypal Story, available on Amazon.com. It tells, in metaphor and image, the journey of the soul and its goal in fulfilling its life purpose on this journey we call life

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
