Your partners constantly mistreat you, but you don’t feel like you deserve any better. “At least,” you tell yourself, “This negative attention is better than getting no attention at all.” You wish there was some way to regain control of your life and relationships, but you don’t know how. It feels hopeless, and you’re almost ready to give up.
