Linda Lopez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has 9 years of experience in the mental health field. Linda's past work experience includes working in private practice, inpatient settings, and higher education. She works primarily with older adolescents and adults and also has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community. Linda is skilled and experienced in working with individuals who struggle with anxious thoughts/feelings, depressed mood, body image, life transitions, interpersonal conflict and communication issues, boundary issues, and shame.

Intrusive thoughts and the compulsive behavior of dwelling in the thought (worry) until we have 100% certainty is a faulty training of the mind; it originates in our young mind as a child with immature cognitive abilities, leading to the development of errored-thinking and biased perception.

I have a special interest in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder as well as spiritual issues and personality disorders. I have worked with clients on a variety of mental-health issues including anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, mood disorders, anger management, trauma and loss, and behavioral and impulse-control issues. My training is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, and I am working toward certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

I am a therapist who specializes in suicidal ideation and depression. My clients come to me feeling hopeless, helpless, and feeling like there is no reason to live. Some days, They may feel like they lack motivation to do anything they usually enjoy and are interested in doing. I also focus on anxiety, trauma, relationships, and life phases. I am a LCSW, LCDC, and I'm certified by the Missouri Academy for Child Trauma Studies for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help teens rewrite their stories and heal from trauma.

However, the empowerment that can be gained by letting go and ridding yourself of negative thoughts can be truly life changing. It may be hard, but my role is to help you reach your personal goals. Counseling is my second career. In the earlier part of my life, I earned an MBA and spent 10 years working in international sales and marketing. I was moved to begin a new career helping other people after counseling personally turned my life around and provided me with balance and peace.
