Greetings. I am a general practitioner with 20 years of experience providing psychological services. My training and practice covers the human life span. Individuals, couples, and Families are welcome. I use a unique, innovative, culturally appropriate approach that is based on best practices derived from empirical and qualitative research. With all my clients, I seek to help them pursue the full unfolding of their true self, and close the gap between their present reality and their ideal. People should live happier, healthier lives. That is what all people want and deserve. My focus is on helping people achieve ALL of their goals. Everyone goes through tough times. Some people go through them on their own, but sometimes it takes a professional, unbiased perspective to help. People are the result of both nature (inherited traits) and nurture (environment) which form lenses through which we perceive the world. I view life as a journey, and while at times we all get caught up in the storms of uncertainty, disappointment, hopelessness that cause us great pain there are opportunities for change. People are often in need of help because they want a place that provides safety, security, and hope. I help explore new options to resolve problems. I make every effort to provide my patients with a safe place to talk about their problems, hopes, and dreams, while striving to be a light for them when they are in the darkness of despair.

I enjoy people. I believe that people are people and all people struggle at times. I find it exciting and rewarding to help people who struggle with addiction and are ready to take back control of their lives, and the families that love them. I also work with families that want to communicate better and learn how to live more harmoniously in their lives while still meeting all family members' needs. I specialize in military resilience and addiction.

Years ago, I use to think 'Counseling is for birds! I assumed, erroneously, only ‘truly disturbed' people needed a counselor. Boy was I wrong! When I went through a difficult time in my life, I realized I needed some guidance. I found a counselor who helped me discover answers I needed for my journey. Along my way, I came to realize, everyone, now and then, may find themselves in a tough spot and need some guidance. It's not an admission of weakness. It's the recognition that at times, we alone don't have all the answers. Counseling can help and I welcome the opportunity to join you on your healing journey to wholeness.

I have had the honor and privilege of working with individuals and families for more than 15 years and really love what I do! Our office believes that access to counseling should be easy and comfortable. I personally try my best to never turn away a client, schedule immediately, and work with any financial barriers. Although I work with a variety of treatment goals and treatment modalities, I am known for my work with children, trauma experienced populations, relationship counseling, addictions, military and advocacy for community health. When working with children, I always involve the parents and I attempt to assess in a variety of settings to assure I have the entire picture. Counseling should feel comfortable and safe.
