I have a passion for working with others to improve their quality of life. I have spent over twenty years working with children of all ages, adolescents and adults, whom have had emotional, behavioral, medical and learning challenges. I have experience providing family and marital counseling. My experience also includes working with individuals whom have dual diagnosis using different forms of psychotherapy. I meet my clients where they are to partner with them in making a positive impact in their lives. I choose to live my life by the words of Mahatma Gandhi “You must be the Change you wish to see in the World".

Adulting is hard. Being a kid is hard. Being human is hard. Having access to all of the world all of the time is hard. It’s overwhelming and everyone has an opinion. And sometimes it can just become too much. Every stage of life comes with what seems like insurmountable obstacles. This day and age with the seeming constant comparison to a perfect social media life can leave one feeling impossibly more than less than. Sometimes we just need a little help. A place to sit with our reality without the judgement or the press to have it all.

Life can be overwhelming, especially when facing unique cultural and societal challenges. The impact of moving to a new place, dealing with loss, and confronting systemic barriers can profoundly impact your well-being. Ongoing stress also affects our relationships, work life, finances, or physical health. In our time together we can examine the influences in your life including sources of trauma and societal pressures. We will incorporate your values and coping skills. Most importantly, we find hope for you to live a life that is meaningful for you.

Exhausted. Hoping to have a good day with your child, but hope ran out when he had another tantrum. Praying for some relief. The yelling and screaming and the anxiety are becoming unmanageable. Just one good day. That's not asking too much, is it? Lots of advice but nothing has worked. Or it works for a while and then it goes back to the same old thing. Fear of what might happen means staying home most of the time. Surely there is a better way. For you and your child.

Adolescence and young adulthood are times of significant change and growth - it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Maybe you're feeling nervous, empty, or hopeless, and think life has lost its meaning. Or, you might be having a hard time relating to others, and aren't sure just where you fit in. When you feel stuck and unsure how to break free from unhelpful patterns, therapy can help. This can mean finding new ways of thinking about or coping with difficult experiences, or focusing on gaining insight into what motivates or challenges you. Therapy looks different for different people, and I can help you find what works best for you.

I work with a variety of clients with a variety of needs. The thing that most of them have in common is a feeling of being a bit stuck. Many of my clients are experiencing transitions in life, transitions into new work environments or life phases. Other clients are needing to make a transition & I can help them weigh their options & process their choices. I believe at my core that none of us were intended to do life alone. My clients’ goals are usually pretty simple, they want to be more present in their lives and move forward in a meaningful way.

Life has its ups and downs and sometimes talking with someone else can provide a new outlook and comfort. I believe that through the therapeutic relationship individuals can receive the support they need to help them through the up and down moments of life. I focus on what each individual client needs and desires to change in the therapeutic setting. I work from a primarily Cognitive-Behavioral perspective, focusing on the link between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as it pertains to current symptoms and behavioral presentation. Therapy is a personal and individual journey, but I believe the journey does not have to occur alone.
