I have extensive experience working with individuals who are grieving, families who are struggling in their relationships, and with those who are facing challenges in their lives and in their relationship with God. I do individual counseling as well as marriage and family counseling. I focus on communication skills, coping with stress and anxiety, trauma, and healing past hurts. My perspective and approach is Christian but I work very well with clients who are not religious or who are exploring their relationship with God.

My psychological testing practice is built on collaborative, client-centered care that starts with your questions and ends with a personalized road map of recommendations based on the results from a series of special tests, questionnaires, and interviews.

I’m a therapist serving all of Texas. I’m a mom to a pretty bad-ass 12-year-old, a best friend to several gorgeous people, and a partner (I’m polyamorous, and have two partners currently). Arlette has dedicated her life to helping others and provides clients with an open space to be heard. Arlette has spent over 12 years in educational and non-profit settings, and now 8 years in private practice. Other notable experiences in her repertoire include leading grief groups, domestic violence groups, substance abuse treatment, and psychoeducation groups for adult probation. Arlette has advocated for her profession in state/local associations, and as President, wrote the bylaws for her local chapter. Arlette strives to expand her knowledge in the field, utilizing only evidence-based practices in psychotherapy.

I believe that my job as a counselor isn't to "fix" my clients but to help them develop a plan where they can attend to and address the issues in their lives. My aim with my clients isn't simply to help them pause an issue in their lives temporarily but to understand why those issues present themselves in the first place so that they can be dealt with appropriately. I primarily use EMDR to help my clients grow in their lives. I enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ folx and individuals hoping to deconstruct beliefs/attitudes absorbed through harmful religious upbringings.
