Hi, I'm Sherrie and I have been working in this field since 2003 with adults and children who have experienced trauma. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and accepted in order for you to open up and share things in your personal life that have been a struggle for you.

I enjoy working with the full life span (my client's ages range from 2-years-old to 94-years-old) through a wide variety of concerns. I consider it a deep honor to be entrusted on your path to wellness and enjoy when you are able to pursue wholeness, even when you have no words. It is my honor to walk alongside my clients toward hope and healing from a variety of complex experiences, including attachment concerns, prolonged grieving, adoption issues, challenging parenting situations, vicarious trauma, and complex trauma & dissociation, including dissociative identity disorder.

The mission of my professional life is to change and improve the quality of people's lives so that they will get more satisfaction from their personal, family and work relationships. My education and years of experience help me to form a therapeutic alliance with clients, find solutions and build strengths to maintain the personal growth they achieve. I believe that treating anxiety, depression and trauma is a collaborative process that is achieved by a variety of best practice techniques based on both science and common sense.

I am deeply committed to establishing a strong and therapeutic connection with each of my clients, and this commitment is born from my experiences working with individuals facing various challenges. Whether it's during moments of crisis or periods of relative calm, having a dedicated advocate by your side is invaluable. I work with children, adults, and families to focus on healing. I enjoy working with all ages, and specialize in working with children (and their caregivers) and individuals with an abuse history. In therapy, we will utilize your strengths and interests, such as art or play for children, to individualize treatment!

Welcome! I’m so happy that you have taken this step to create change in your life. Due to negative experiences, many times we learn unhelpful behaviors and beliefs over time. I believe that healing takes place when you have someone to walk alongside to create space where you can safely deal with what concerns you without shame and without judgement. My goal is to create that space and to be that person who will walk with you as you confront what is no longer serving you and develop lasting change.

My goals in therapy center around two ideas: helping you feel better and helping you get better. Life gets complicated for all of us (either throughout our lives or during parts of our lives). Sometimes we just need someone else to help guide us through it and teach us a new way to approaching our difficulties. One part involves helping you gain confidence that you can have control of your life, & the other involves challenging your beliefs and world views that keep you from living life to the fullest.
