When that happens I believe we tend to get stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving in our present and impacts our relationship with others and even ourselves. I received a Bachelor's from Texas Tech, a Master's from Lubbock Christian & have a range of clinical experience as a counselor with children and adolescents, a bereavement counselor, a collegiate counselor in a residential treatment center for drug & alcohol dependence, as well as a therapist in the private practice setting.

My experience as a 14-year law enforcement officer led to my understanding of the unique and often complex issues that arise from serving communities and country, including addiction and trauma. I use evidence-based practices with a unique and holistic approach to healing and understand the culture and language associated with veteran and first responder communities. Drawing upon my Native American roots, I incorporate indigenous techniques when appropriate for the client.
