Imagine that you are holding a bottle of soda. Now imagine yourself shaking that bottle. What happens if you open the top? It explodes everywhere! Now, if you take that same shaken up bottle and carefully turn the lid to let a little amount of air out at a time, it will settle. This is how I view therapy, with each shake representing a negative experience, relationship, and/or trauma. Good therapy demands being careful with and sensitive to those shakes, and eventually walking out of the door with a mind, a relationship, and a life...settled.

You are trying to juggle all the aspects of adulthood but they are overwhelming you. You may have even thought about reaching out for therapy but have been afraid of what that might mean or say about you.

There are times when life presents us with challenging situations that make us feel depressed, empty, confused, anxious. A friend or relative may help. However, you may not want to share these experiences with people you know.

Our Practice It is our belief and experience that you will get more out of your life if you are willing to change. Change is spurred by a feeling that something just isn't quite right, that something could be better, that there's an issue you want to resolve. Therapy is an important step in discovering the world around you and finding your place in it. Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

Hello, my name is Susanne Maynard. I work well with those experiencing anxiety, depression and grief. My biggest strengths are personal experience, a love of learning, and a willingness to try something new. I am always learning and growing. I believe my best work is done with those who have been wounded in the past, and are now ready to take charge of their personal healing journey. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each client, although the primary method I utilize is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will explore together what you believe is keeping you 'stuck' and what you would like to change.

Many of us have been made to feel like a failure as if we’re not good enough. We've experienced loved ones taking advantage of our trust, leaving us feeling blindsided. It’s no wonder that we might be unsure of who we truly are, as others have often tried to define that for us. I believe that your story is still being written—by you. Together we can help you rediscover your strength, heal from past wounds, and regain control over your narrative.

I believe in restoring hope for individuals and families. My clients have needed support for relationship issues, ADHD, autism spectrum, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. One of the most important elements in getting the help you need is finding the right therapist with experience and knowledge. By building trust with my clients, they feel understood and supported. Learning new ways to handle challenges can bring healing and comfort in times of distress. If you or your loved one shows signs or symptoms of a mental health concern, there is hope. Please seek help from a trained professional who has clinical experience.

It's easy to compare our inner struggles to the polished exteriors others present. That sense of isolation can make us mold ourselves into versions of what we think we should be, losing touch with our true selves. When we push away the darker aspects of ourselves, we also dim our inner light. Together, we can explore the real "You" beyond the facade, allowing the parts of you that long to be seen and understood to come forward.
