I am a licensed LPC-S therapist, Certified EMDR therapist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional II who has collaborated with trauma survivors since 2004.
Have you experienced trauma or attachment wounding? Are you in a constant state of fight or flight or dissociation and shut down? Does your nervous system feel like your enemy? Traumatic events affect people in very different ways. One thing is certain though; trauma is stored in your body and affects your mind, body, memory, mood, spirit, and relationships with yourself and with others. There is a way to befriend your nervous system, effectively heal your past wounds, cope with your current triggers, and discover your own personal post-traumatic growth and resiliency for the future.

In my therapeutic work, I endeavor to create an environment that allows my clients to center-out, to breathe, to explore, to undertake, to dare, to dream, to change course, and to reconnect. As a would-be-adventurer with a penchant for curiosities and the unknown, I look forward to embarking on uncharted paths with my clients. In journeying alongside my client, my hope is that upon reaching the trailhead of their path, they're able to look around and exclaim "everything is in its right place."

The clients I work best with are looking to make lasting adjustments in their life. They know that they are being called to a more peaceful way of living. Maybe you have made a habit that you just can't seem to stop, a memory or situation that you just can't move forward from, or you are in a relationship that is struggling. Let's work together to figure out what needs to change and how to make those changes in the healthiest way possible. If you are open to it, we will explore how practicing your faith can allow you to strengthen the adjustment you are making.

I additionally offer EMDR therapy and supervision for therapists.
Don't let TikTok be your only therapist. It's easy to fall into a rabbit hole trying to figure out "what's wrong" with us when in reality, we just need to better understand our individual needs, boundaries, and desires. There's nothing wrong with you, I promise. Therapy can offer tools, support, and accountability to find peace and understanding, and help you feel like yourself again. Life gets murky and confusing at times. If you struggle to feel authentic in your relationship, job, family, or are just having trouble adjusting to a new phase of life, let's talk about it! Saying things out loud can be tremendously relieving.

I use EMDR, IFS and somatic therapy to help you find long-lasting results and believe that trauma does not have to be in the driver’s seat of your life.
You often find yourself wondering, “what will it take for me to feel normal?” It feels like you’ve tried everything, including therapy, but you can’t seem to “get it together” like everyone else and feel constantly on edge. Being abandoned by your partner or friends is constantly on your mind. You might know in your head that you don’t need to be anxious about the things that keep you up at night, but your body tells a different story with the knots in your stomach and tightness in your chest. All of this leads you to feel like it’s impossible to break out of old patterns. You’re ready to dive in deep and find long-lasting relief.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
