My primary goal as a therapist is to provide you with a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings, in a caring, supportive and respectful environment. I have extensive experience providing psychological and behavioral treatments for drug and alcohol abuse/dependence, depression and anxiety, interpersonal relationships, divorce, grief and loss. I use an integrated approach which draws on the best practices of various counseling theories and I tailor these treatments for each client. Together we will work to help you discover and access your personal wisdom and strength in order to find solutions to your interpersonal or psychological issues.

This practice is ideal for people struggling with alcohol or other drug addiction and prefers to start their recovery in individual sessions with a drug and alcohol counselor rather than by entering treatment in a formal rehab setting. It is also indicated for those who have alcohol and drug addiction assessments and could use the help of a counselor to build sober support. Counseling is typically combined with 12-step or other mutual support group attendance.

I'm a Kink Aware Professional and believe that relationships and sex are building blocks to our lives no matter in what form they come. I have experience working with a variety of sexual and relational issues and have worked with people from varying backgrounds, from BDSM to open marriage.

My approach is to help clients become free of their emotional overreactions (especially recurring upsets) and break free from the grip of their past wounds. I also work to help identify conditioning and beliefs that my clients have inherited from their families which are NOT consistent with their own core nature. It's all about becoming more authentic. I believe that the more true to ourselves we become, without the old wounds, conditioning, and societal pressures (such as needing to be seen as a nice guy/girl or needing approval from others) then the more whole and joyful we become in our everyday lives.

To learn and grow, children require a tapestry of love, safety, and challenge. When the challenges youth face exceed the amount of resources available, therapy can be helpful. Private, goal oriented, engaging and fun activities can motivate youth to participate in a process they might otherwise avoid. In my practice, I help children address anger, depression, trauma, school related difficulties, divorce, and adjustment issues. With over 20 years of clinical expertise, I understand that children's therapy is most effective when the process is safe and interesting.
