You are the expert on your own life. But sometimes, an outside perspective can be helpful, providing valuable feedback about our behavior patterns. This is especially important for growth and change to occur. I practice a person-centered approach and our time together will feel like a conversation, as our therapeutic relationship is a collaboration. I will help you obtain a deeper understanding of your inner narrative and explore ways you can exercise self-compassion. I will draw from various treatment models to help you manage stress, improve resilience, and gain control in the areas of your life that feel overwhelming.

As humans, we are constantly challenged by the imperfections and expectations of society. It can be confusing, discouraging, and at times can dim the light within us. It can also make us feel lost and disconnected from ourselves and others. Investing in yourself is the best way to overcome these challenges and learn more about your thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, and values.

It’s no easy decision to move toward change, it takes courage and a willingness to self-reflect. Congratulations on taking the first step in building a richer and more fulfilling life. Therapy can foster skills to cope with personal difficulties or help heal wounds from our past. It can empower you to see your life journey in a more meaningful way, developing insight into your choices and relationships along with cultivating self-awareness to better manage hardships down the road. You are the driver in our time together and we move at the pace you’re comfortable with.

Making the decision to seek counseling is the first and most difficult step in this process. I offer a warm and relaxed environment to my clients- a place they can feel safe and protected. I believe having a natural connection with your therapist is the most important aspect of the counseling process- it is within the therapist and client relationship that healing and growth occurs. I am compassionate, respectful and nonjudgmental. I combine my positive energy with a grounded, realistic approach.

I approach therapy with a psychodynamic perspective. This means that I believe that we are all impacted and shaped by the stories we tell ourselves unconsciously- which in turn, informs our views about the world, our relationships, and ourselves. However, with increased awareness, this framework also states that we can change maladaptive stories we may have previously believed were set in stone. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to facilitate such change. Also, in order to adequately meet each individual's needs, I use an eclectic approach to treatment -drawing from supportive-expressive ideals as well as CBT, DBT, CTT, and CPT.

It can be so difficult to enjoy a “normal” life when your mind is preoccupied with diet, weight, or the size and shape of your body. It’s hard to concentrate at work or school when you can’t stop fixating on your muffin top, and how many calories or “points” you have left for the day. You feel anxious when it comes to being around other people because you fear they’re judging you. You have no idea how you got into this vicious cycle, or how to get out.

I consider myself a passionate advocate for women’s well-being through-out the life span. My method focuses on empowering women, instilling self-trust and confidence, cultivating body acceptance, and holding a safe space for miscarriage, infant loss, and birth trauma. Additionally, I'm here to be an anchor for those working through narcissistic abuse recovery. You are not crazy. What you survived matters. I will hold and support you as you reclaim your voice, power, and self-worth. Together, we will emotionally regulate, create healthy boundaries, and heal the trauma. There is hope, freedom, and life after narcissistic abuse.

I have knowledge and practice of many prominent counseling theories and will adapt my counseling approach to your needs and goals. I tend to implement a solution-focused approach in order to not only focus in on what your goals are, but also to get you to those goals as quickly as possible. While we develop solutions for your goals, I tend to think outside of the box and try to find unique solutions that are catered to you individually.

Take this as your sign. You deserve to have the life you desire as opposed to carrying the weight of unescapable emotions and stress. I want nothing more than to offer others a safe, confidential, and non-biased place to explore any concerns and feelings without judgement. Getting connected with your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can lead you to a better understanding of yourself and build the foundation to work towards overcoming any obstacle in your path. My therapy approach is client-centered and I will meet you wherever you are spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Lack of Motivation, Addiction, & Relationship Issues - The 3 most common presenting problems in my practice today. Whether you’re dealing with any combination of the 3, or something else entirely, actualizing your potential is the way forward. I don't believe rehashing past experiences to no end is helpful. While talking about past experiences may be an important part of our work, growth manifests through present integration. Being as honest and direct as possible is the best way to demonstrate how I'm not here to waste your time. If we share this value, my style of therapy may be right for you.

You're looking to make a change. Whether you're wanting to improve your relationships, navigate a life transition, better understand your emotions, or learn new ways to cope with depression or anxiety, therapy is a great place to start. And even so, it can be difficult to make the adjustments you want without the right support. I believe that we flourish when we find relationships that encourage us to accept ourselves fully, challenge us when we're stuck, and honor our unique perspectives.

I hope you take a moment to recognize how much work you’ve done to get to this place. You’ve survived this long, and you should be proud. For most folks, surviving on its own doesn’t cut it anymore. We need to make some adjustments to sustain a more grounded and full life. I want you to experience collaborative healing that is safe, free of judgment, occasionally humorous, and rooted in kindness and gratitude. I currently practice under Therapy Austin and Central Austin Psychotherapy offering in-person and telehealth services.

My ideal client is seeking out therapy because they are wanting a change in their life and are ready to work collaboratively with me to gain their desired outcome. The client would like techniques and tools to work on and completes their homework assigned, coming prepared to session. Their issues may be anxiety and depression related to managing different stressors in life such as interpersonal relationships, job stress, and emotional reactivity. Their goals may be to improve their conflict resolution skills, reduce self-destructive urges, improve self-esteem, tolerate distress, and increase pleasure.

If you struggle to find healthy and fulfilling connection in your life, you are not alone. Sometimes our life experiences or traumas have a way of disconnecting us from ourselves and the world around us. Leaving less room for authentic and meaningful relationships and connection. It's okay to need help reconstructing this connection. Together we can help you observe your inner world and create new pathways that encourage curiosity and empathy.

Do painful life patterns seem to repeat? Familiar cycles hindering every relationship, honest attempts at maintaining a healthy routine failing after a fucked up day, or getting “stuck” on your phone every night when you never meant to. You're trying. I know you're trying. But this shit has roots in childhood experiences, your DNA, and a political climate that thrives on you resenting yourself and others. These wounds aren’t your fault. But choosing Therapy is. ——Note for young men: What is masculinity to you? Is there a way to feel strong, feel emotions, and feel secure in relationships? Only you can choose that answer.
