You are the expert on your own life. But sometimes, an outside perspective can be helpful, providing valuable feedback about our behavior patterns. This is especially important for growth and change to occur. I practice a person-centered approach and our time together will feel like a conversation, as our therapeutic relationship is a collaboration. I will help you obtain a deeper understanding of your inner narrative and explore ways you can exercise self-compassion. I will draw from various treatment models to help you manage stress, improve resilience, and gain control in the areas of your life that feel overwhelming.

I use a wide variety of techniques in therapy including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ACT/DBT, mindfulness techniques.
You're wanting to start counseling and here you are, at the first step. So how do you choose a therapist out of a sea of faces? I think the truth is pretty simple: you go with your gut. Lots of evidence shows that it is the counseling relationship-rather than theory or modality used-that is the causal factor of change. It's my firm belief that the overriding factors needed in that relationship are trust, patience, and kindness. You'll get those from me because that's what I give myself. That's what leads to change.

Whether you or your child is struggling with your mood/behavior, a traumatic event, educational challenge.
Maya Angelou once said "Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud." When conducting psychotherapy or neuro-psychological testing, my mission is to provide a warm and caring environment and to see the complete person so that you leave feeling like you have been heard. As a trained neuropsychologist I understand neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as attention and learning difficulties and how they affect abilities.

I received my licensure as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) from the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
Accepting new clients 10/2023. As a holistic, trauma-informed clinician, I value my role as an opportunity to help people recognize their strengths, allow themselves to safely be vulnerable & feel hopeful for the future. The therapeutic process can be intimidating, so my approach is to make it collaborative and inviting. I have worked with children, teens and adults in both in-patient and outpatient settings. I've read many books and participated in several trainings, but you are the expert of your own life. If you'd like to see if we would be a good fit, send me a message. I offer evening hours both in-person and virtual sessions.

This simple and accessible parenting framework builds the inner strength of your child through three components: 1) Neutralize negative behavior 2) Energize positive behavior 3) Demonstrate clear and consistent boundaries.
Is your child intense? Is your child highly emotional, willful, and gifted? Do you need some new ideas to connect with your child? Within each of us lies greatness: within your child, within you as a person, and as a parent. I can help you and your child access that greatness and nurture it. I work well with intense children who are struggling with behavioral and attention issues. I provide a safe and caring environment, often taking the therapy session outdoors for experiential activities.

I have training in several modalities including cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic.
Relationships are powerful. They have the power to inspire us, help us grow, or they can smother and even damage us. We spend much of our time and energy engaged in relationships, tolerating, fixing, and avoiding relationships. I believe that relationships are powerful vehicles for change. As a psychotherapist, I offer a relationship that is warm, challenging, accepting, and personal where you can feel a full range of emotions, learn, grow, and attain your goals.
