Unfortunately, I am not able to accept new clients at this time - Hello, I’m Nicole, a therapist licensed to practice in Texas and offering teletherapy. I have experience treating many issues, including childhood trauma, strategies to manage ADHD, and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors such as skin-picking and hair-pulling. I am a proud social and racial justice advocate, LGBTQ+ ally, sex positive, and HAES- and poly-affirming. My primary approach to therapy is relational and client-centered, meaning I believe that the therapist/client relationship is central and that each individual client is the expert on their own life.

The sexual part of your life is not where you want it to be and you are desperate for change. You and your partner are worried that something might be wrong with you or your relationship. You don’t know where to go for help. This sexual issue is keeping you from being happy and you and/or your partner are depressed and anxious all the time. You think about this all the time. You feel like you don’t know enough about sex and you certainly don’t know how to solve this problem, even though you have tried. No one taught you how to have a healthy and positive sexual identity, so how are you supposed to know how to fix this?

I offer somatic therapy to all folks and freaks seeking to deepen connection with their authentic self, to create more spaciousness for play, for possibility, and the unknown. So often we find ourselves in lives defined by the ways we have had to fracture from our core selves in order to survive. As your therapist, I strive to serve as your witness and mirror, assisting you to tap into your body’s innate wisdom to help guide you back home. Throughout our work together, we will build reverence for the ways you have learned to protect yourself, and explore how we may build or rebuild safety in order to seek out more possibilities.

Welcome! In my work I hope to share my passion for our connections to the natural world, our bodies, and our community in the healing process. This knowledge that has been shared with me has illuminated my path and expanded my perspective of my training in traditional western psychology. I believe that some of the most fruitful healing happens in relationship & in community and that when given a safe environment, we naturally move towards healing and growth.

Are you a compassionate, deep-thinking individual looking for a therapist to help you process your experiences without putting you in a box? I love helping smart, multi-layered, sensitive/empathetic people who want to heal their hearts and move toward their dreams. Life can start to pile on layers of painful emotions, fears that the past will repeat itself, and endless messages from other people or from society that can leave you feeling stifled, like you aren't living out your full potential. You might sense that emotional baggage or self-limiting beliefs are holding you back. You might just want to be HAPPIER and more joyful!

Life can be so challenging. Even when "good" things happen to us, it can bring stress and grief. Deciding to work with a counselor is a bold and brave step toward coping with whatever life is giving you. Having a person to help you process issues is liberating. By learning about your strengths and by learning how to use them effectively, you can begin to heal and transform into the person you were meant to be. I have worked with many different presenting issues including anxiety, depression, lgbtqia+ issues, family and parenting issues, school related issues/microaggressions, and many more.

The goal is for my clients to walk away with the same curiosity and unconditional positive regard for themselves that I cultivate with them in our sessions. Through the gentle untying of the knots of trauma along with reinforcement of strengths and resources, the internal compass can once again be recalibrated toward joy, with intention and self-compassion. Sessions with me involve curiosity, education, and concrete practices that will help shift your perspective on your internal and external experiences, and give you the knowledge necessary to get you back in the driver's seat of your life.

Now accepting new clients! Life can be down right hard. It becomes exhausting to manage how you feel and how you sometimes respond. Crying easily, worrying, and feeling alone, angry, overwhelmed, and sad are all common signs of depression and anxiety. I want you to know you are not alone. I am here to support you and help you through such a challenging time. It is my desire to assist you in learning how to respond appropriately to triggers for better emotional control and to address unresolved trauma that has left you feeling low, empty, and ashamed. I will incorporate biblical/Christian principles, if requested.

As a depth-centered psychotherapist, my mission is to help you better connect with the realest self that you are: one that has a profound ability to know exactly how to live a life of meaning and fulfillment. By slowing down and holding space for curiosity, we have an opportunity to disrupt beliefs that may be contributing to conflict in relationships, and stagnation in life goals. A large part of my research and experience is focused on helping adults with undiagnosed ADHD build a better-working structural foundation, helping to meet the anxiety that arises from the chaos of modern life with a sense of calm and confidence.

You have achieved so much, but you just can't feel satisfied in what you're doing. Maybe you've been worrying too much, feeling unlike yourself, feeling a little lost or down. Maybe you're just lacking the support you need and deserve to truly improve things. I'd love to help you cultivate deeper understanding and compassion for yourself and gain some new tools to navigate life's challenges. I always say change is easier when you've got the right support. I've been told that I'm super easy to connect and feel safe with. Often, I hear this from folks who have tried but haven't found the right fit in a therapist yet!

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
