I provide supportive care to individuals struggling with anxiety related disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Are you or a loved one struggling to live a fulfilled life? Is it difficult to navigate the stress of everyday routines, or are your intrusive thoughts holding you back? These feelings can be exhausting, and it is easy to lose your sense of self. Unfortunately, most people learn to avoid the things that cause anxiety and stress, and they fall into a pattern of unhelpful behavior. This can lead to distancing yourself from meaningful relationships and feelings of shame and unhappiness.

I love working with children, adolescents and adults who may struggle with anxiety, depression, family issues, or any other day-to-day challenges. My optimal client's goals would be for them to become the best version of themselves and be willing to work in and outside of therapy; desiring happiness, health, and an overall stronger sense of belonging and direction for their life. I can help by walking alongside of you as your guide; helping you navigate life's greatest challenges through kindness, support, and self awareness.

My experience and training in the past 24 years have led me to focus on the areas of Trauma, Anxiety, and Autism. I enjoy working with all ages, from kids to young singles and couples and extending to aging clients. I can work with persons experiencing chronic illness and pain. For families, I can work with adoption issues, blended families, and domestic violence. I love setting up groups with those who will benefit from them. The added appeal from group involvement is the decrease in cost and the additional therapeutic connection this affords.

I know how exhausting it can be to feel as if you’re constantly treading water and I am here to help. Finding a therapist that truly understands you can be difficult, I am a firm believer that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy is unique to everyone and I like to think that my own personal experience in therapy has allowed me a unique perspective into what my clients may be going through. My goal is to help you take control of your own life, and I believe that I can be the person to help you!

Within us there can be pockets of hurt, resentment, fear, and grief. These vulnerable parts coexist uneasily with another side — the one determined to keep moving forward. Therapy can act as a bridge, carefully navigating between these opposing sides. By acknowledging these experiences, we can gradually move forward with more clarity and peace. My goal as your therapist is to create a space that is warm, affirming, and compassionate — a place where you can freely explore your authentic self, dive into the root causes of your suffering, and develop insight into what you are truly searching for.

Trauma can be a hard subject to talk about. Often we minimize or compare our experiences with those of our friends who are somehow more valid. We struggle to name our trauma, but trauma includes impactful events like not having our needs met growing up or a significant break-up. Chronic trauma is stored in the body and can manifest as feeling on edge, feeling overstimulated, or people-pleasing. As a former EMT, I understand how these experiences can manifest somatically. I specialize in complex trauma and attachment wounds, and support individuals through life transitions, grief, medical trauma, chronic illness, and OCD.

OCD Counseling: Intrusive thoughts that won’t take no for an answer and compulsive behaviors that take time away from the things you love.
Couples Therapy: Communication has become stressful instead of safe. Minor annoyances escalate into fights where the same topic gets visited repeatedly with no resolution in sight, The friendship you both once had feels nonexistent. You’re looking for practical tools and safe conversations so you can both HEAR each other again. I offer an objective approach to reframe your dynamics and stabilize your interactions so you can get curious about each other again. Working together, we can map out a direction for your relationship that replenishes rather than exhausts and turns conflict into connection instead of collateral damage.

Mental illness lives. Anxiety lives. OCD lives. Addiction lives. Depression lives. Imagine millions of people around the universe waking up with the same dark, aching places you promised you’d never talk about. I’ve noticed how quick we are, as human beings, to push aside the most meaningful parts of our lives. Let’s not push aside the things that need to be talked about. Let’s bring mental illness to the light. The worst thing we can do is ignore it. It exists and it easily consumes. So if you’re struggling right now my role is to listen, discern your strengths and vulnerabilities, and invite growth as you place trust in my care.

I am a licensed clinician who has experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, and bipolar. I believe that from our birth we begin building an image of who we are, how relationships should function, and how the world works around us. For many of us, adverse experiences in life can lead to difficulty managing stress or daily functioning as we get older. We may need help processing our lived experiences and understanding how they have effected our decision making and the struggles we face today. I believe that, by focusing on the present and applying the past, we can discover both our goals and our strengths.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
