Howdy! My name is Ryan Lloyd and I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Supervisor, AAMFT Supervisor Candidate, & Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor working in North Texas. One of the mantras I live by is "we can't do better if we don't know better." I say this as I involve psychoeducation into my work with clients and view therapy as a learning experience. I value honesty in the therapeutic relationship and don't shy away from challenging clients to foster growth within themselves and their relationships. My road to hope helped me see and pursue solutions that were hidden behind a thick fog of despair due to growing up in a dysfunctional home. One thing I tell others is “you cannot give to others what you haven’t been taught”. My parents lack the hope to break the cycle of dysfunction of their past family upbringing. I believe my parents forgot they had a choice to change things.
